Justice for Jacob Blake

I’m sure those same cops were the ones “marching in unity” a few months ago. It’s all performative always is. I’m sure they’re dusting off the kente clothes as we speak.

Also now they're saying he was armed with a knife while he walked back to the car. Definitely gonna muddy this up if true.

protesters?
THroughout the protests, there have been people "protesting" that aren't even down for the cause. Not even sure what you would call them but it has been documented.

How do you know it isn't THEM?

In a sense I think a lot of protests/movements are the same. You have a small percentage of people that are articulate, well-versed, and peaceful, a chunk of well-intentioned people who aren't exactly all that knowledgable on the issue they're protesting but are peaceful and have good intentions, and a small percentage of ****bags who don't actually care about the movement or represent the message, but tag along for the ride and try to make it an excuse to act out, which the opposite side will then prop up as the true representatives of the protest/movement. See: Occupy Wall Street.

Then there's the agitators that know what they're doing and actively attempt to discredit the protests by using violence and vandalism.

For years, non Blacks on this site have been known to tell Black people to stop being victims, and to stop complaining about racism while here on NikeTalk. Quite obviously, they felt comfortable enough to state such, then not being handled by mods who obviously sided with such posters. One such poster, JRepp23 JRepp23 , recently stated in the Last Dance thread, that what happened to African slaves, had nothing to do with the current condition of the descendants of those slaves. Now with the current situation unfolding, yet another Black person being fired upon by the police, it has suddenly become popular for those non black posters who once told Black people on NikeTalk to stop playing the victim, to chime in with faux concern. Thoughts and prayers, right? Black people in america have been praying since 1619, and suddenly because non blacks start praying, that so called god will start listening about the plight that Black people face every minute, every hour, every day in this world? Do you realize how insulting that is? Then to have comments deleted challenging those who claimed that Black ancestry does not matter, during a time where we are still being shot and killed, to simply make the persons feel comfortable in their willful ignorance? How many Black people have to die, before you actually get that BLACK PEOPLE HAVE A RIGHT TO BE ANGRY?

He could of had a 9 in his waistband.

He was walking away!

I've seen white folks ATTACK cops and get the taser.

He didn't attack the cops.
The neighbor’s account said the cops tried to taser him, but the taser failed.

Definitely not using any of this as justification of their actions. I’m just saying the other side DEFINITELY will.

If they thought he was that much of a threat you’d figure pepper spray would be sufficient. No reason they should have even given him the opportunity to touch the car door if they thought he was that dangerous.

Poorly handled by the cops no matter how you slice it.

Can we all AGREE shooting him in his back 7 times point blank was extremely excessive?

I really wonder if he would pull this statement back but that is some of the wildest stuff I have seen someone say on here.

Well, that would take courage, which is rare around these parts. What I want to know is, how did he become so comfortable to say some ‘ish like that? Is it simply because he is white? White people do tend to think that they can say anything they want to Black people.

I am by no means an expert on law enforcement strategies or tactics. My biggest question, if the officer felt in danger or in fear. How does Mr. Black walk to his vehicle, make it to the vehicle, open the door and then he his shot 7 times in the back.

If we're going to say, "He may have had a 9 on his waist", my question again would be, why would we he be allowed to walk away and around if he is viewed as a threat and potential danger.

Makes absolutely no sense to me. There are multiple officers on the scene.

To say this is anything else other than murder is absurd and reckless. Based on what we've seen and heard thus far.

Agreed, but he’s not dead.

Herschel Walker's son. Wow.

Sad sad sad person right here.

He should've listened to the cops? If not, get shot 7 times...? um no.

"Consequenced" isn't a word.

The fact he's pointing out and emphasizing someone's criminal past, sounds like we should devalue anyone who has charges. Wrong.

Last but not least... that smirk at the 39 second mark looks like he gets a pleasure off of making rants like this and loves it even more to hear backlash from it.
