I wouldnt say food but the pizza is on point.I live in NY, and my pops has lived in Florida for the last 9 years. All they have are franchise pizzerias. He does say that poppa Johns is the best, and genuinely enjoys it.
But every time he comes to visit, the first thing he asks is to take him to a pizza spot.
I think ny pizza and food is general tastes so good because our drinking water is the best in the world.
Shrug.
yea dominos suck so bad that's y they had to "reinvent" themselves... and pizza hut is processed... pj the best out of the delivery big chain places... but overall its ok not great/good but ok....never understood the dislike for papa j's. save for their cheapo $7 boxes, they make some pretty good pizzas. and hell, even if all you've got is enough for the 1-topping, you get the garlic sauce & peperoncinis. def better than the other two major chains.
NY pizza tastes like something from papa john, little caesars or dominoes...
the only pizza spot that has left me saying dammmmn, in recent memory, was Fox's in Chicago, off of 100th and Western.

Times Square isn't a barometer for a good slice of pizza here. It's a tourist spot. I'd honestly encourage anyone to go to one of the outer boroughs or just anyplace NOT a tourist spot to judge a NYC slice of pizza. Usually food places in that area aren't as good because it's rushed to meet the pace of the crowds of people that are constantly there. As a person that lives here, you'd never catch me eating at any place in Times Square.
It isn't a jalepeno. All of this. Forget the jalapeno, I use the garlic sauce strictly for the pizza.

Don't eat pizza around Times Square. Ever.

Little Caesar is straight trash though, like a step lower than pizza hut. Joints are school pizza with a brand name.
Papa John's is utter garbage and I have never ate that or any fake pizza in my life.
Yes I live in NY.
