Went with a few friends and managed to grab a few pairs. We had 244-247 so we lucked out somewhat. I remember reading the procedure for Sunday morning and knew it was going to be hectic with the vehicle line policy, the whole thing just sounded odd compared to a traditional line. I remember being really annoyed years back when the ps3 was released and waiting a whole day b4 was not good enough so didnt know what to expect. First time waiting for shoes, not much heat really releases in FL besides Miami I think but thats too far away for me.
Got slightly lost as there wasnt too many vehicles and it was confusing where the place was, shouldve had a sign to say u-turn here, ended up continuing straight towards the hotels and then u-turned and then finally figured out I was at the right spot as thats when a bunch of cars all of a sudden got in a line. Reading posts from other people, realize I kind of lucked out predicting the right amount of time for early show up, I'm not sure how fast it piled up, honestly think I couldve been in the low 100s, possibly lower as when I first got there it was pretty empty then all of a sudden in 10 minutes or so packed.
Then my experience on Monday morning went well overall although a bit of things that were a bit unprofessional imo. The initial wait was way too long, then to reduce the wait time, they placed a limit from 5 shoes to 2 only. I had 3 friends of mine accompany me so that didn't bother me much as 8 pairs was all we could really afford collectively. I really wanted the wings but apparently they were sold out by the time I got there. Heard rumors that the ovos were also sold out by that time but the white/blacks were where it was at so didnt even bother asking about the ovos (not a fan of jordan 10s also).
Anyways get there and at first everything seems well. Ask for white and black 23s, they dont have sz 13 for me so get a size lower. 3 friends behind me do the same. Anyways, after that I'm told inside that the black 23s are temporarily sold out and to go to a temporary line outside after we got done buying the white 23s and taking a pic with Marcus/autograph. Go back to some secondary line outside, I manage to go back inside, and somehow my 2 friends behind me were cut off from security. My other friend behind those 2 managed to get in somehow, think the other two got unlucky taking their time with Marcus that by the time they went into the secondary temp line for the blacks, other people ended up getting in that line and staff probably didnt continue following wristband number priority. Pretty lame for the security to tell them that blacks were sold out when the whites were still selling like hot cakes at that point. So Im inside the store about to buy the blacks when I hear about this from my 2 other friends by text as I was wondering why they were not in the store yet. Try to ask one of the employees about this and they say to not comment about it and to let it go and if I continued to do so I would lose my spot in line for the blacks and be escorted out. I know they had to have more blacks in stock, that makes no sense that there would be less in stock than the whites, especially when we were in the 200s. Thought that was honestly pretty rude as I just got done spending 600$ for two whites(Friend and I), but what can I do? Anyways we get 2 whites/blacks, and my other two friends only get whites for themselves. Slight loss but whatever.
Plan originally between all of us was to get 4 whites, 2 blacks, and 2 wings, but then end up after conditions and restrictions 4 whites and 2 blacks, still good nonetheless.
All that sounds kind of negative, but at the end of the day I'm satisfied, buying a few pairs and being able to meet Marcus was surreal. Asked him if the Kobe PE 3&8 would ever get a public release and he just said thats what rumor has it and that he couldn't say lol. Those are my fav jordans I've seen this year, I really hope they do release, huge Kobe fan personally x_x
Been looking up shoes for the past 4-5 months, as a college student don't really have the time and money to be a "sneakerhead" but appreciated the culture nonetheless, so this was a really great success. I'll have to go back sometime, I just hope the way they set it up and the staff become a bit more professional next time.
