I'm sure they have reasons for doing that. My guess is they make more money off of the IVs than 1s. Even if both the IVs and 1s cost the same to produce (e.g., $10) they would end up making more money on IVs because they charge more for that model.

Maybe. But if true, why not wait 10-15 years between royals releases? They just released in 2013. Their cycle for releasing shoes now seems to be 4-5 years for the same shoe. Nike is all about $$$. More quantity of IVs in the world brings them in more money than if 1s were available in the same quantity.
