Overall, the shape and height is 100 times better, and basically...

BUT!!!

AND THE BIGGEST F'N "BUT" EVER....

Just like the SB 4's and ALL of the 4's before is the wing placement, and the height/width of the ankle collars.

If Nike/JB would just F'N raise the actual height of the collars themselves, they'd have enough space to pull the wings back to the pull tabs, and the height would be on point to FINALLY make the entire shoe look right.

Also, they need to rewiden the collars and with the correct height, they'd be near the top of the pull tabs...

They FINALLY do THIS, and I'll Shut the F up, til INFINITY.

When these release, it'll be damn near 25 years since this colorway as looked even HALFWAY decent.

With all this ‘99 talk I went through photos of my old pair. I sold my full set of 99-2001 retros back in 2015 when I realized Nike Air was back for good. That’s my eBay tag in the photos from when I was liquidating. Only pair I have left is my 2001 BC3’s because I had 2 pair. I sold my pair that I wore and kept the DS of those. I’ve since replaced them all with the modern versions. Everyone hates the 2019 BC4’s so much, I actually dislike the 2020 FR5’s much more than the 4’s. They need to fix that tongue, I can’t get jiggy with that stiff material they use on the 5 tongues nowadays. Looks horrible. Like someone said earlier, the 4’s look fine on feet to me.

You can put premium materials in your favorite colorway and that shape will still ruin it

That was as good as Jordan retros will EVER be, right there... Nike/JB were spoiling us, and we didn't even know it.

Pics are from 2017 or 2018.

I still have them. I only ever wore them once because the Durabuck will crack almost immediately, if I tried to REALLY wear them. There still in great condition, but the Durabuck needs some mink oil badly. I've been meaning to grab some, but I keep procrastinating.

as someone that enjoys wearing shoes in all weather and a simple soap and water clean method I'm in for 2. I'd easily wear these over 2019 but yeah, no idea why they can't make them higher
