It's simple economics....supply vs. demand. The higher the demand and the lower the supply the higher the price. When you start to shift demand and/or supply lines, the price will either rise or fall depending on the shift. Since demand for J's is for the most part constant....some models do have a higher demand than others but for the most part the demand is fairly constant, to curb resellers and lower resale prices is to increase supply. Raising the retail prices of the product won't do much (i.e. XI's)....it will just drive the resale price higher.
