What position did you apply for and how'd you arrange the interview? I applied for a bunch of positions a week ago..

This is my personal opinion, but I hate, hate job (staffing) agencies. They take way too big of a cut of your salary, and when you work you're working for them and not the company that you're working for.
I guess it's not a bad idea to check it out, but just be sure to listen carefully and make sure they're not robbing you of your salary.
I figured this was the caseThanks for the info man. I'll stop by and discuss with them how much they plan on taking out of my check.

I finally got a job offer at a hospital here in socal. Things are finally looking up. Bout to cop my mom some things she could never afford.
Cliffnotes:
4.0 gpa
bachelor of science in nursing degree
4-5 months later, found a nursing job
bout to buy my mom some nice things.
Just to mention my own experience with staffing agencies, so you know where I'm coming from, a staffing agency set me up with an interview for a job at this computer hardware company, and they were offering me a 30K cut out of an entry-level engineering job. Considering the average entry-level engineering job is in the 55-60K range, that's ridiculous. Even if the job is relatively low-paying for an engineer job (maybe 50K), that's still a ridiculous 40% cut they end up getting.Originally Posted by GUTTA BOB

dog, this is from a friend's experience, but staffing agencies do work. at my job he told me he came in as a temp and worked for a good 2 months and the place offered him a full-time position.
you can ask the staffing agency how much they plan to cut from your check but they'll probably tell you to kiss their buttholes.. it's really none of your business. but i'll tell you something from my job.. i did some ap stuff and usually temps get paid about $9-11 dollars depending on what your doing.. and the agency got about $15-16. So they take a big piece but don't even think about the money like that. you need a job and they supplying, so just work hard and see if there is opportunity for a full-time out there... if not with this particular company.. move on to the next one.. and so forth.

dont trip i woulda done and same thing. if u feel like trolling... call sears back up and say u had to take a dookie.. or something came up and u had to run out. and just say by the time u came back nobody was there.
do you have a degree? if u dont u should consider buying one online. get a print out and just bring that to interviews. i would aim for bookkeeping jobs since they don't care much for degrees. just act like u know how to do some bookkeeping and say u have 1-2 experience (google some words so u can fool the person) and bam.. start pay for bookkeepers is like 10 and can go up to 15-20 an hour
is this common lol

I interviewed knowing that, since at that time I wasn't getting many calls and I figured why not. But after thinking about it, I really couldn't stand working for a staffing agency and being robbed of my salary, so I withdrew.
