Working in IT support this is the worst, people expecting you to do their job for them because it's on a computer. No *****.

Guy sounds like an a-hole all stuck in his emotions.
You may have dodged a bullet honestly. Did you get an official rejection email?
Here is a sample of the cover letter I used coming out of college, i know it contains a lot of buzz words and it was from a template that my Uni's career center usedCan I get some help on what exactly should a cover letter contain? I usually apply without one but when done jobs require 1 I just don't apply. I've checked online but some of these sites offer little to no help besides general info.
To Whom It May Concern:
I am a senior at X University, and I am writing to you to apply for the X position available in your office. I believe that my experience with X and extensive writing experience, organization skills, and dedication to hard work will greatly benefit your office.
I gained valuable experience working with professionals and learned a great deal about responsibility and strategy in the X as an intern at the firm of X. As a key team-member in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, my organizational skills, diligence and motivation to complete tasks efficiently and independently were an asset to the firm. As part of a broader project involving research, I compiled X that consisted of federal, state, local and international resources that were of interest to members of the firm and clients. My research experience refined my ability to think critically within a technical framework. My capacity to work with multiple sources varying over a wide range of topics was of great assistance to the development of the project.
I would like to learn more about X, and I am looking for a hands-on experience in a challenging environment. Since I am currently studying X, and plan to attend graduate school for X, I am particularly interested in working in an environment that facilitates X.
I believe that my enthusiasm and willingness to apply my skills in new situations and innovative ways will serve as an invaluable asset to your office. Please refer to my résumé for more details. I am eager to further discuss my qualifications with you and look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Your name
If I ended up working there, I would've Shoryuken'd dude.Nahh i didn't. They never offered me the position at all. It was just "what if"Guy sounds like an a-hole all stuck in his emotions.

Even if I was offered it I wouldn't have taken it. I didn't do anything and that guy was a a hole. Imagine me working there? Shhhhid
Went in for an interview in the city yesterday. Everything was going great. Then I had 2 assessments that I did. Good
Spoke to 5 people. Good. Last guy I spoke to was just a real h0e man. Str8 up. Acting like my commute is a huge deal from jersey. When it's not that serious. By bus it's like 45 mins no traffic
Anyways he doesn't believe I lived in my town. He wanted to see my id. Then he says I'm gonna get bored working here and leave him. If I would work there it would be for a minimum of 1 year. If I leave before then I will burn my bridge and can't get a reference
He tells me some more bs. Then I eventually said that I was still interviewing elsewhere. He says well this discussion is over with. You just wasted my time.
So I tell him that I never got an offer. So?
Hes like we'll you're old enough troy. You should know this. And then I said no I don't assume anything. Especially with a job opportunity. No one told me I was being offered anything and I'm not going to assume I got a job here because I spoke to a few people
Then he's like go email hr and tell them this. Otherwise goodbye
That's what I'm saying! Dude was just mad unprofessional and rude. Everyone else was too cool.
Had they offered it I woulda said no based off him alone. It was that bad
Should i email hr? I have the email
And he told me to email them saying I won't pursue the job anymore
If it were me I'd just email them thanking them for the interview but that you're going to pursue other opportunities.
We know you are tempted to tell them what a jacka** the guy was , but surely they know already and it's not worth burning a bridge.

You know whats funny?
Google searching the guy and you'll see a bunch of negative reviews about him. He even made fake reviews about his company in a positive way. But it's obvious it's him
People saying he's racist, rude, he even held a pizza restaurant website for ransom and they took him to court
So yeah I dodged a bullet
I don't think so. A month is ample noticeI interviewed for a job got an offer and accepted, about a week later I called and said I changed my mind and am no longer interested. It was roughly a month before I was supposed to start. Is that bridge burnt? It's a nationwide company and I don't know if they have a centralized HR.
I think I know who this is. Did anyone of the reviews mention he own or had some involvement with a pornographic site ?You know whats funny?

When's the last time u revamped your resume? And what have you been doing while unemployed? Have you been learning new skills or enhancing yourself?

last time ive edit my resume was Jan of this year.
while bein unemployed since May, Ive been looking for full-time work up until august. attended a few career center meetings. September-Dec., i was taking full-time classes and looked for part-time work.
pretty much was trying to use school skills to edit my resume.
1 year + 2 months later --> got a nice bonus + salary bumpUPDATE: Got the job, just signed the offer letter. A slight increase in salary + bonus + more interesting / challenging work. Will start after the new year.
I was just talking to @Antidope about this, but my old bosses have an open analyst role at their company.
- I've known them for 4+ years (they took me on a) when I had no experience in college and paid me as an intern and b) hired me last summer when I was unemployed)
- This role is exactly what I was doing with them except a permanent full-time role. I'm one of the very few who knows how their systems work
- I'm about to hit the 1-year anniversary at my current job and I'm looking to get out ASAP
- I'm meeting them this Monday, but have no idea how I should be preparing
- Last summer, I went to the office, they told me what work they needed done over the summer, asked if $60k pro-rated for 3 months sounds good, and when I can start work
Any tips? I try to play it safe, so I'm just brushing up on interview prep, but they've confirmed I'll only be meeting them + another young analyst on their team
Let's all flourish together, NT fam.
I've always went to school for Mech.Eng. but I've been taking my time because I would also work since I gotta pay some bills tooWhat field are you looking in? You have to work on skills that relate to that but it's good you started taking classes. In the meantime, get on Facebook and see if your area has a Brand Ambassadors group, that can provide some money in the meantime. Keep grinding bruh
