any tips for entry level business analyst/project management roles?
great tip on looking on each companies website. You may be able to find industry specific lists of companies in your area online. Also, keep up on the business news in your area to hear when jobs are being added or companies relocating to the area.Network, look on Linkedin, apply even if it says you need 3 yrs experience.
Don't just look on career builder, look on each individual company's website, tedius but worth it. Hook up with a temp agency if you're in a major metro area, that's how I got my full time gig (i'm not technically an analyst yet, but I'm on that career path)

I haven't had a similar situation, but I would definitely follow up with him if you haven't already. 6 weeks is a long time, but hiring someone isn't always number one priority, things happen - people get really busy sometimes, can get caught up in hr, etc. 6 weeks seems long though, but you never really know, sometimes you just have to kindly ask.I am not unemployed but looking to switch companies. I had a phone interview with the Managing Director almost 6 weeks ago and I thought I killed it. He told me that he normally doesn't do interviews but the person who normally interviews people was away for a reason I forgot. I took that as a good sign since he told me he went through some email and picked out the resumes that interested him. He told me I was going to get an update within a week or two. I applied online and the interview status for the position hasn't changed and I didn't get a rejection email, which in the past I have. I am thinking if this position has been filled, I would have gotten an email. I'm not sure if this matters but this position is in socal and I am in norcal. Have anyone ever had any similar experience to this which resulted in a job offer?
LinkedIn bro. I've transitioned to contacting Hr people and people from staffing firms via that website and sending out a scripted message.I have a job, but it feels like I don't, if that makes sense. I need to make a lot more than I'm making, and I don't even know where to look besides indeed/monster.
Had this happen, it was my dream company too, I didn't get the job...I am not unemployed but looking to switch companies. yeah.. Hate to say it, but that doesn't sound great for you. I would try one more email and move on.i forgot to mention that i sent an email requesting the status of the position and i called his number twice. i didn't get a response and he didn't pick up
I'm taking these non-credit classes via ed2go. They are 6 week sessions and you receive a certificate of completion after you successfully pass the final exam.

thanks for the info fam. how legit is ed2go? are u actually learning anything? is it interactive where it lets u use the software at all? i'll be considering this..
you don't get a cert or anything, but www.w3schools.com is a great resource. I taught myself Sql with this site and stackoverflow.com. at w3schools you can do the exercises in a Web based Sql compiler (I guess that's what you'd call it?). It's definitely fun to play around with and you'll learn the basics.thanks for the info fam. how legit is ed2go? are u actually learning anything? is it interactive where it lets u use the software at all? i'll be considering this..

Question for yall...
you are in the interview process for a job making 10 to 15k more than your previous role...and just turned in your grad school application for a top program.
you get requested to apply for another track at the same school by a professor few days before your initial phone screening with HR manager.
would you:
A. inform the job that you are interviewing for that you are waiting to hear back from grad school
or
B not mention anything about grad school and quit the job if they dont offer flexibility for school
?
