I hated him in college (yes mad), but ever since he left I don't mind dude.

Malta posted some hilarious stories of him from college and with the U-20 or U-21 USA team that were hilarious.

Plus I was rooting against the Celtics, so I didn't mind seeing him chase Jesus S. all around the court or hit a 3/not airball a lay-up here or there.

July 15, 2004

No bandage can cover my scars
It's hard living a life behind invisible bars
Searching for the face of God
I'm only inspired by the poems of Nas
Because the truth has carved my life's patterns
The reality of pain, and the joy of laughter
My hopes and dreams shattered
by the miscalculation of my own situation
It's difficult to keep my nerves patient
Facing the forecast of fears
that none of my peers have ever been faced with
I wanna reach the top floor, but I'm stuck in the basement
With not enough juice to burst through
the chains that have shackled my brain
It seems my dreams have carried me to a separate peace
apart from reality
Society is allowing me to grow into the man I'm destined to become
But how can I move when my entire skeleton is numb?
Numb from the obstacles that I've been given
Suddenly the bars connect to walls
and I find myself contained inside life's prison

He can't guard anyone. I give him a pass for not being able to guard Ray Allen, but Eddie House abused him also.

He has worked on getting stronger, so I can praise him for that dedication but he has the EXACT same problems now that he had his whole college/NBA career....

1) he cant defend. Way too slow laterally.

2) one trick pony. He can shoot but he gives you little else, no assists, no boards, no steals.

3) his shot accuracy in college was sorely overrated because of the media. Seriously, Rashad McCants had a higher 3 pt percentage than this guy, yet Redick was considered one of the best shooters EVER by many!

Reads post...... looks at avy....

you know there is a middle ground right? Its not, Redick Lover or Redick Hater. I can appreciate that he has improved his body, but he lacks seriously in defense, assists, rebounds, steals or anything NOT shooting. Not to mention, he really stunk it up some games in the playoffs shooting the rock

ohhhhh wow, what a middle ground. Youre giving him credit for getting muscular yet bash all of his basketball abilities that arent shooting. Thats reallycompromising.

Nice to see him get some PT... regardless of the thin bench of the Magic or some other BS excuse the haters wanna give. I wasn't a fan of Duke during thosedays, but he was fun to watch.

Dunno if he'll see anymore time like this... with Jameer and Lee manning the guards next season. Maybe 6th man?

but nothing I said isn't true. You do realize that correct?

Seriously, he is the perfect example of why the NBA has too many teams. The talent level is watered down now. 20 years ago, he's not even on an NBA floor.Of course, he wouldnt be now if not for Lee's injury.

Boss...you are coming off as a salty dog here....JJ Redick is a perfect example of why the NBA has too many teams? Go sit yourself in a corner somewhere. You're saying a shooter like JJ Redick wouldn't be on an NBA floor 20 years ago?

He's getting drafted in the first round whether it is 2006or 1986. Everyone and their momma is giving him credit for the defensive job he did against Ray Allen. No, he's not going to be up for the DPOY any timesoon, but it's foolish to say he didn't do a GREAT job guardiing one of the all-time greats in the C's series....give credit where credit isdue....I mean +*+@, I even came around on Melo. If you're looking at things objectively, you can appreciate the defensive job Redick did over the pastweek or so. Why can't YOU see that? And yes...your avy might be the reason as to why.

for some reason I always disliked dude for his arrogance percieved or not. But I do like that he has been humbled and still stuck with it. lots of guys havegiven up.
And its not like he is the only one trick pony in the L.

All this tough love has been good for Redick. He's obviously been working hard on his defense and in the weight room.

if you think Redick wouldve been a lottery pick 10 years ago, youre crazy. Ray Allen could do whatever he wanted. The dude scored 23 pts on 50% shooting ingame 7.
if thats holding a player down, we have different ideas of good defense.

Secondly, if he is so amazing, then why did Orlando wait until they had INJURIES to play them? Their own staff let him ride pine for over 2 years.
And what did he and Turk shoot in game 6? Great shooter I thought
