JAMES BOND movie thread: RIP Sir Sean Connery - NO TIME TO DIE 10/08/21

It's sad to say but i think going with Elba or another black actor as Bond will backfire on the franchise.  I think Elba is an amazing actor but there's a lot of those fans that don't want to see a Black James bond.  Kind of sad to say.

I feel you but give it a few years if Michael B. Jordan keeps it cooking, he could possibly be in a close running to achieving 007 credentials. Dude is pioneering the younger generation of actors.

People will put up with a black James Bond but there's noooooo way they'll accept an American one.

MBJ would be fine but he is going to have to execute a British accent flawlessly. American actors tend to butcher accents.

I think that is somewhat the appeal of it, you just do not take it too seriously. There is a good mix of cheesy and crappy cheap costumes like the Daleks and Cybermen then there are also some more recently more intricate effects and costumes.

The most interesting part is the lore and the whole concept of it's universe and history of the doctor. At least that is the case for me. It's also like 10 episodes per season so it's easy enough to swallow and be more enjoyable to watch in batches.

I also like the most recent female companions.

This pretty much. Him being british is what's essential to the story, not wether he is black or white. I do hope the next one is Elba!

Amy Pascal was the one who thought of the idea but she wouldnt be in charge of that decision anymore.

I dunno how people watch that show. I tried but it's so lame and cheesey.

same. I was told by a big fan that you only needed to watch the first and last episode of the first actor in the current Dr. Who series so maybe I ****** up. Even then I wouldnt care to catch up to the other 6 seasons.

I tried watching the newer episodes because of the companions. I like Karen Gillan and the new one looks good too.

It's definitely not for everyone. It has some of the Sherlock writers too which is what made me give it a chance in the first place but I couldnt get into it.

I love doctor who although the last few seasons were a bit of a struggle to watch. Not a fan of the new doctor or companion.

So hyped for this movie. Really hope it doesn't get delayed with some of the setbacks

This movie is gonna be nuts. Looking forward to this and Star Wars.

On top gear they said it was a one off. The production DB10 prolly won't look like that.

But damn that'd a sexy car.

"When I came over to meet Sam [Mendes], I only asked two questions," says Bautista in Empire's in-depth feature on the film. "I asked him if Mr. Hinx was a badass. He said, 'Yes, he's a badass.' I said, 'Well, is Mr. Hinx intelligent?' He said, 'Very.' That's what I like about Mr. Hinx. He's very well-dressed and very well-mannered. I'm not just here to fight people. He has a sense of humour. He definitely knows what a metaphor is."

Just as Hinx doesn't sound like your average Bond henchman, it seems the mysterious Dr. Madeline Swann won't be just another "Bond Girl". "I don't consider myself a Bond girl," says Lea Seydoux. "I think I'm not really the stereotyped Bond girl. I feel quite different. You can't be like, 'Oh, James.' You have to find something else. She's not a fighter, she's a doctor," she adds. "She fights in another way."

Why she trying to make her Bond girl role seem way different than ones before? A lot of Bond girls weren't fighters.

What type of gun is that 8o

I'm sure she just wants to stand out. Most people's favorite Bond Girls are whoever they find the hottest. She prolly doesnt want to just be remembered for her looks.

Didn't know Monica Bellucci was going to be in this or maybe she was just cast recently. I thought casting parts would've been done by now.

Oh, ok. Forgot about that. I thought it was weird people were talking about her casting today on tv but they wanted to talk about her wanting to be called a Bond Woman instead of Bond Girl.

The villain is skyfall was trash. Bardem was the wrong guy for the role. Ish was cringe worthy
