[:: J. COLE THREAD | DREAMVILLE's ROTD3 ALBUM OUT NOW!! ::]

This is how a big portion of his fans act tho. It has a lot to do with the current climate of rap but some people out here look at him like the second coming of Rakim or some ****.

It's crazy because in the midst of FHD going platinum you still had _'s who would look at you with a straight face and say "Cole underrated, stop sleeping on him" :lol

We can all sit here and point out the irrationality of damn near ALL of these ****** fan bases. My post was directly in response to the posts that tried to make it seem like J. Cole is ONLY one thing. Like how can someone sit up and try to delineate between "J. Cole music" and "Club Music"...when he ALSO makes club music?

It's really brilliant marketing. He can drop a track like Wet Dreamz and ****** will look right over it and then proceed to criticize some other dudes for making corny radio ****.

This is how the whole "J Cole went platinum w/ no features" **** turned into the big troll that it is now. Gates went plat with no features too and nobody made note of it.

That might have something to do with the fact that "******" might identify a BALANCE in Cole's music that they may not identify in the "other dudes" music. You'd have to be specific.

Aw ok. I see what you're saying then. To me it's the same **** on both sides tho.

His detractors act like he ONLY does the extra "boring" lyrical miracle stuff and no club/radio ****.

While it seems like a lot supporters, who actually prefer the lyrical ****, like to act he ONLY does that too but in a way that insinuates he's above doing the club/radio records for mainstream appeal. (This is kinda what I mean by over looking his records and criticizing others for the same thing)

Just seems like a lot of people want to paint this picture of him being one way or the other and in reality they're both wrong cause he does both.

This is why his brand and marketing is so interesting to me tho. Depending on who you ask Cole can be a lot of ****. Boring, slept on, the realest hip hop rapper out, etc

J Cole came in on the "let my rap name be my real name wave" talking bout who dat. Seen that Drake had that on lock and now wants to grow his hair on some fake deep mess foh.

Whose man is this?

Mos Def singing "I want black people to be free" on Umi Says > J Cole's fake deep songs and career.

Seems legit, always wondered how one decides what's real deep and what's fake deep.

I mean relax.. no one is saying J Cole is better than Mos Def..

Umi says is better than anything J Cole has every put out. Yall stay with the hyperbole. It's annoying as hell sometimes.

sweet, will watch doc after i get out of work later tonight. been busy with school. FHD live was so awesome, especially in the small venues. great day. looking forward to the album

why do people always think the alternative to j.cole is club music?

Damn this real af :lol

Cole cool but man his fanbase can be annoying af. Idc if you say he top 5 currently but he aint EVER gon be the best as long as Kendrick rapping. Speaking of him & Kendrick i still aint forget that BS Black Friday lie bout February last yr

He better have a song with him on this next project & none of them generic Dreamville characters

I'll never understand the Cole hate. Ish is mind boggling to me lol

Realist rapper out by far.

even Kendrick knew he couldn't get away doing the same old **** after GKMC,
he switched it up & TPAB paid off

If Cole doesn't experiment here he's gonna take a step back

Cole's first album was his experiment. Whatever his strategy was last album is what he should stick with. Maybe add a feature or 2 but that's about it.

Lol music in general is as predictable and template based as it's ever been. Since when did the core music consumer base have a desire for "experimentation"?
