[:: J. COLE THREAD | DREAMVILLE's ROTD3 ALBUM OUT NOW!! ::]

That's some Grade A spelling and grammar right there.
Glad to see that our school systems are doing their job well. The future of our country is in great hands.
This annoys me to no end too but if people want to type like that let it be. No need for unnecessary drama.

I mean, NT isn't a site for journalists and best selling authors so I don't call out every bad use of grammar or every misspelled word.
Hell, I even type in slang here and there.

But it's funny to see someone come into a thread just to purposely laugh at fans and talk smack, but can't even do it right.
The struggle to type is real. :lol
Instead of making us look stupid he's just making himself look like a kindergardener.

Fans like you act like Cole can do no wrong and everything he drops is fire. That's false.

Nope, never said that. He's got weak tracks. I wasn't crazy about much of the stuff from Truly Yours. I'm prepared for this new album to go either way... but based on past records and a more than solid debut, I'm hopeful. But I'll stick with my "real > fake" statement.

I don't bump Ross' music like that but at least he can keep putting out the same fake coke stories and making them sound different.

Man that's so underwhelming. You've got wonderfully high expectations for rap, I see.

You realize Cole is the innovative one, right? Rappers have been bragging about drug deals for decades. I can't believe you're trying to argue that Ross has more variety than Cole. I'm no stan, but dude went back and forth on an abortion argument, brought Jay-Z onto a dubstep beat, pondered the balance between conscience and sexuality, and sampled College Dropout. Mixed in with enough swag tracks to play in the car. On his first album.

Let me know when Ross strays away from his formula of chanting the names of dudes in jail/coke lies/rolling hi-hats/fake horns. :|

J.COLE UPDATE #2 FROM YOURS TRULY:

Bad News:
Unfortunately, Power Trip dropped 2 spots on the Hot 100 back to #23. A large reason why is because the digital sales of the song have dropped. Its in the 40's in itunes, that just doesn't cut it if you want to move up towards Top 10.

Good News:
It's doing well with streaming sites like Spotify. #18 song streamed, and still rising on the radio charts and getting more and more spins everyday...which is what is keeping it floating around #20. Mainstream Radio has picked up Power Trip, so it'll be on more than just HipHop stations now. It'll slowly get more and more spins in more areas around the countries, and hopefully that along with a few more tv spots and promotion will get the song back into the Top 20.

A quick new Cole interview about the album being pushed up:

And a quick new video with some new info on the album:

"I Dissapointed Nas" sounds like it might be an EPIC track. :eek
Nas supposedly hit Cole up after work out and told him he was dissapointed in him, said he could do better than that.
I guess that hurt Cole if this song is really coming out :lol :hat

I would guess that if Power Trip doesn't move back up into the Top 20 within the next week or 2, they are going to quickly drop that 2nd single.
If it does, then they might let it ride out until the Album drops and then drop that 2nd.

That's all I have for you guys today, i'll keep you fellas posted.

SUPPORT AND PRE-ORDER THE ALBUM!

at I Disappointed Nas...that's the way it should be.

The vets should hit up these younger artist and give them some feedback...but could you imagine Rakim hitting up Nas after You Owe Me dropped talking about he could do better?

Coles verse on Lit is pretty nice..

That "I disappointed Nas" track sounds like it's going to be a special one.

Doesn't bother me that there are no rap features on this album, I prefer it to be like that. But I wouldn't mind a verse from Hov.

Pretend you don't hate Ross for a minute. I know Cole is a better rapper then the Ross we've been getting for the past few albums/mixtapes. I specifically said "J. Cole needs some new subjects. I feel like its always the same **** and its becoming boring. I'm tired of hearing about his student loans." I didn't just start listening to dude. :lol.. YOU brought up Ross' name into this thread not me. I just said Ross can rap about his "fake" life but at least he manages to make it sound different. I listen to Cole cause he word play is nice and feel I relate to his music in some ways. I listen to Ross because I like some of his older music. I get it, you don't like Ross but what Ross eats don't make me ****. If an artist makes music than sounds good to me it'll most likely end up on my hard drive. :lol @ my expectations. You do realize your favorite rapper probably listens to 2Chainz and Gucci Mane right?

No features, damn I am so let down, no Kendrick or Nas........I wanna see him feature with those two

I have no problem with no rap features on the album as long as there are not too many R&B features. I wouldn't have minded a Kendrick verse but too many rap albums today are oversaturated with features from other hip-hop artists.

Downloaded that whole project by Bas off the strength of that track :smokin Dreamville has some nice talent with Omen, Bas, and of course Cole...very excited about Born Sinner though
