^That Cole and Kendricks album is going to be a problem. CDQ of Temptation has been needed for sometime....tracks sounds dope and they both ripped their verses.

i said "currently" brother. alot of old rappers that some would consider legends are currently not on the level of new dudes out.
and nas has came back strong with life is good, that's why i said maybe
I'm baffled at dudes saying they're not feeling power trip.
Not official video, but thought it was dope:
Still waiting... |I
Still need CDQ for Temptation >:
I think this will drop after Cole's album and before kendrick's next album, somewhere in between the two. Maybe after Cole's Born Sinner tour
Still need CDQ for Temptation >:
Don't get why he doesn't have buzz yet, hope he don't catch a brick with born sinner
its pretty amazing that kendrick lamar is bigger than cole.
never did i think that was possible.
Let's face it, Cole fumbled his debut. He had an opportunity to grow his fan base by being on the major stage, instead he switched it up and went after new fans or ears, with a sound that is much different than his mix tapes.
Now by doing that he lost a lot of his base that rode for him with the FNL series and gained the fickle hypebeast fans that are constantly looking for the "new" thing. These people don't even remember how big Coles debut was on the radio any more because they are caught up with the next new rapper.
Its sad I love this dude and he reminds of a lot of my friends and their lives.
With that being said I think if Cole put out the debut album that he really wanted to put out I think it would have still been successful commercially and received critical acclaim like GKMC did. The difference is creative control which Kendrick clearly had way more of.
you guys are correct, maybe i was to harsh with using the word fumbled. I really just had high expectations and felt a little let down, that is truly why I posted what I did. Wasnt based on stats or nothing lol. I just seriously had high expectations for dude...still do though and still think he has the ability to last and achieve great success.
Although I don't feel the same I know exactly what you're talking about as far as the expectations of his first album from a music and fan perspective. I liked most if not all of the songs on the album but I know that wasn't his best work, however, I also factored in the business side of things and realized he didn't have the freedom he wanted. When he tried to go the lyrical route with "Who Dat" it didn't work and that's when his album got pushed back and they started taking songs off of the album and saving them for the next; finally "Work Out" and "Can't Get Enough" came and so did the buzz and the album itself. IMO Cole looked out for his core fan base and the new mainstream fans on his album and I'm trusting that he's "playing the game so he can change it".
