ITT: Everything Electro/Dubstep/House/Trance Music

Loco Dice is coming to town Saturday and I can't find anyone down to go :{ My license is suspended otherwise I'd be there regardless.

what do ya'll think about deadmau5 new album?
First half has some songs I really like, not big on the second half but I get what he was trying to do with it.
favourite song as of now with a passive hearing of the album is Phantoms Can't Hang. reminds me of his older stuff like Vexoulligy (definite sp) and At Play 1. I'll let you know when I give the album a REAL listen. agree what you say completely @zube42
Do you guys like electronic music that's more beat driven or lyrically driven?
I'm more of a beat driven type of person. love deep house and trance out the a**. as for most of America right now in this "EDM fad" I would say its lyrically driven. not for anyone in particular like "If its featuring Elli Goulding it HAS to be good" but like if its catchy then everyone will like it. We're in a stage of stadium anthems. Everybody loves Queen but if they see them they'd rather hurry them up just so they can sing-a-long to We Are The Champions. People will love other songs regardless and there are exceptions of course its just the the music videos that are out there and the singles are pretty lyrical heavy. I don't know when was the last time an instrumental song blew up the charts in electronic music. I'd say Darude's Sandstorm but I took a huge break from this genre for years (Metal had a great revival in the mid 00's

as in songs with no vocals vs songs with vocals?

Well there's songs that have minimal vocals , for example daft punk's around the world.. That what I was trying to get at. Some have vocals but they're not the focus.. The music is what they're trying to showcase... So lyrics take the backseat

Had a pretty dope weekend

Saw pleasurekraft for the first time at Marquee. My brother got set up on their list/table but for most of the time I was on the floor dancing my *** off :lol their sound is too dope

Then yesterday started out going to life in color in jersey. I was backstage for that and honestly as much as people wanna slander him and he might be a bit of a troll, Carnage did his thing.

Then they had an after party at Pacha. Chuckie was playing a tech housey set, then out of nowhere Carnage came out and played b2b with him. Got to be in the booth for like an hour for that which was dope. The highlight of that set for me was when they dropped a few ignorant *** DJ Mustard songs :lol

Pleasurekraft easily had the best/most fun set for me that I've experienced in a minute. I've been ******* up checking for their productions and label signings, need to start listening to their actual mixes and catching them live whenever I can.

decided to listen to a random album tonight. checked out Maya Jane Coles' Comfort. Imo it's a very forgettable album. She did release this recently though that I like a lot

And I really enjoyed this remix of her song Burning Bright from a few months back that I've been saving to play out in mid-Summer

edit: gunna check out the other tracks besides lost in the city on the deluxe version tomorrow

any NT at EDC? I'm not, had Warped Tour yesterday

I was at warped yesterday as well. I felt old being there and the music scene isn't what it used to be
Oh I felt hella old too. I mainly went with my girl to show her that scene. it was a bucket list item for her so I went to specific bands to give her an overall "this is ignorant and terrible music/bands and this is good technical bands" I had a great time regardless
