Trying to get put onto more dj's like Carl Cox, Hawtin, Sven Vath, etc. Anyone know anybody good?

Is anyone familiar with Meat Beat Manifesto? If so, do you know what song has a remix with the sound of the Predator alien breathing in the back round?

Not that I care but trap is becoming the new dubstep.

Had a chance to see Mark Knight last Friday night, great set but the crowd was just terrible. I've never been to that club before (Vessel in SF) but it was pretty sad how there were only a handful of people that were really there to see Knight and the rest were mostly dudes that had no idea why the music being played wasn't upbeat electro house and progressive trance.

Kaskade about to go on in Vegas. Easily the coolest dude of all the big DJ's out there (Calvin Harris is up there as well)...

Kaskade and Calvin always seemed like cool dudes. Too bad Calvin sucks live.

What happened to all the og's from this thread? Or did we lose em in the move from yuku? No offense to the dude that said it but we're talking about Avicii shows and people have posted some old *** songs in here. If anyone knows anything about good minimal/tech/house dj's like I posted earlier (Cox, Hawtin, etc.) I'd still like to get some names to look up for sets.

Wanted to go to Beyond this weekend but couldn't afford it, next 3 tickets I plan on getting are Boys Noize, Knife Party Halloween tour and Pop New Years Eve. Pop earlier this year was :hat Great venue, great crowd.

I've watched Tiesto three times now, and the fact that most of his American fanbase currently consists of a bunch of people who jumped on the bandwagon when "EDM" blew up in the state (god I hate that term), and also that he only plays fist pumping electro house, keeps me from seeing him until the hype dies down and he goes back to playing trance.

Oh yeah and the three shows I have this year are Boys Noize, Justice, and Pretty Lights. I just saw Chris Lake at Ruby Skye..

How was Chris Lake? I saw Mark Knight, Angerfist and James Egbert last week at Vessel and EPR ( :x ). All delivered. Forgot about Justice I have to do that too, i'm thinking about Wolfgang but he sucked last time I saw him compared to the first time I saw him.

Kaskade is an old school guy... hes definitely humbled by the years he spent in the underground scene and it shows.

Anyone able to purchases Swedish House Mafia tickets? Got super lucky and was able to purchase two at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn for March 2nd, Saturday. Randomly went on ticketmaster at 6pm and was able to purchase them.

At Electric Zoo this song had me close to tears lol even though I had heard it countless times before. Awesome video and song.

anyone else attend beyond last night? i personally think insomniac put on a great show...w&w absolutely killed it

I did! It was amazing! Didn't sleep after though :{ Avicii killed it. Chuckie was cool. Alesso was :smokin. So sad I didn't make it on time for TOKiMONSTA. I forgot who else I saw last night, lol. I fell too deep into the rabbit hole...

Too bad his music has changed so much. He's probably my favorite producer, since I've been following him since his deep house days but he's follwing the same electro house train everyone is on.

The scene is saturated with the same electro house crap, and nobody is original. Avicci broke into the scene and now is a superstar but can't produce two songs that don't sound alike. Everybody at festivals plays the same damn songs and it's ALL focused on the drop. Its high energy 100% of the time. That's why now more than ever I appreciate good trance and deep house and DJs like Farina and Cox. I hate what's happened to electronic music. From the new fans to the exposure it's getting. It's diluted the music to the point where I can't listen to most of the stuff.

I feel you.. I still like Kaskade's productions tho. Fire & Ice was a really good album. I just dont like most of the remix versions. But I can't really blame him for changing it up. If anyone deserves to push house music forward, its him... Not Swedish House Mafia. Just saying.

Saw Eric Prydz at ID Fest and Pretty Lights at Bill Graham and it was refreshing to hear something different from the normal electro house.

Went to Beyond and couldn't even tell the difference between DJs... they all sounded alike. Still crackin tho
