It's Official: Adidas shoes are bad for the knees!!!

Look yall, this all started when I wore adidas shoes myself and got knee pain and a severe ankle sprain. After that I went back to nikes, and no issues. This was impressive to me esp since I had a severe ankle injury, and no problems with the ankle after switching back to nike, no rehab or nothing. It was night and day.

THAT'S when I started looking at college and NBA players w adidas. So many ankle and knee braces. Hell Rose is the damn spokesperson for adidas and he came out the gate with knee and ankle braces! He didn't have them at Memphis and Simeon!

Srs.

Unless you flat feet from a structural issue like a bony deformation, Dr. Scholls are a pretty good brand for insoles. I wear them in all of my shoes.

The best shoes for support just based off the design of the shoes is Asics and New Balance.

And I'm not a nike fanboy, just a fan of good shoes, which is why I started wearing the three stripes in the first place. The hyperdunk line is known for their ankle issues, and I myself am not a fan of the recent trend of only forefoot air in the shoes.

But over and over again, I see the adidas players, esp the ones with that quick, explosive style of play go down in injury. If u really want to break it down, even football players get hurt in adidas, which is why I feel bad for RG3. Reggie Bush been having every ankle knee, shin injury since coming into the league woth that adidas contract. He had nike in college, and no freak leg injuries.

So let me reiterate, FROM MY OWN EXPERIENCES, and WHAT IVE SEEN WITH ADIDAS PLAYERS OF ALL SPORTS, I see more people getting injured in adidas than any other brand. And IM NOT A NIKE FANBOY, ill wear some zig tech reeboks before I buy another pair of adidas to hoop in!

OP how did you roll both ankles severely at the same time lol

Not at the same time, the same game tho, rolled the right ankle (the bad one) then a few plays later, the left one. It was so crazy because I put the shoes on just for that game, and boom both ankles rolled...lookin like steph curry

If they were both severe how did you continue to play after the first rolled ankle. Seems as if youre exaggerating a bit. The only time I rolled an ankle severely was a summer league game and I was done. Swelled up within minutes. I was wearing Nikes btw

So all of these injuries are adidas players?

ankle injuries happen to pretty much every player in that sport

It's amazing how we showed you proof that more players have sustained knee and ankle injuries while wearing Nike this year and you REFUSE to acknowledge it

I swear you must be some minimum wage earning Nike intern hoping to move up in the company by trolling message boards

I'm just going to say this:

Adidas puts more R&D into their products than Nike does at this point. Nike's more concerned with design and fashion. Adidas on the other hand has dramatically increased their likes for comfort and reliability. Trust me bro, I've been around sneakers & these forums extensively for the last 10+ years...

..don't fall for the hype. Pistol Pete would've been 'Wheelchair Pete' if his shoes dictated his health..

The athletes I deal with, high school, collegiate, and professional have the absolute worst muscle imbalances.
^^ The best post in this thread.

If you guys can step back a bit, both Nike and Adidas are pushing shoes that are lightweight and comprised entirely of synthetic technologies. It's highly possible that these materials and technologies are contributing to both the severity and increase in injuries that we've seen in the last decade.

I'd love to have stats of injuries in the 70s and 80s - were players injured as often then as they are now?

Here's 12 Nike athletes. Please never post in this thread again, unless it's to apologize for your ignorance. Most of the dudes I mentioned WERE NOT injured by contact.

1)Jeremy Lin: sore knee->torn meniscus

2)The Nets lost their third small forward to season-ending injury on Wednesday, when it was determined that Shawne Williamswill miss the rest of the year after having successful left footsurgery to repair an old fracture and remove two small bone fragments.

It's been just under five years since the Portland Trail Blazer madecenter Greg Oden the No. 1 pick in the 2007 NBA Draft. On Monday, Odenis set to undergo his fifth knee surgery during those five years.

4))Okafor has missed 10 consecutive games. According to Williams,"[Okafor] is a different guy when it comes to his body. I don't evenwant to get into all that. He and [the Hornets' trainer] are trying toget on the same page as far as making sure he's healthy before he getsback out there again." Interpret that however you will. But keep inmind that prior to the injury Okafor was only returning 13th-roundvalue in nine-cat leagues.

5)Gibson injured the ankle on March 19 at New Jersey and he had shown noprogress. It was originally termed a sprained ankle, but Gibson saidthis one was more painful than others he's experienced. He "jammed" theankle as he planted his foot rather than turning it or stepping onanother player's shoe.

6)Lewis has played in only 13 of 45 games since the coaching change. Hemade his last appearance on Feb. 22 against Sacramento and landedawkwardly on his left knee after grabbing a rebound.

7)Jazz guard Earl Watsonwas unable to finish Sunday's game against the Spurs after suffering aright knee injury, and was seen after the game in a wheelchair, according to the Salt Lake Tribune. Watson played just fiveminutes in the game, and left the arena on crutches. He will have anMRI on the knee. "When I came down after shooting a layup, I feel likeI came down wrong. I felt my knee lock up," he said.

New Jersey Nets shooting guard Keith Bogans fractured his left ankle and completely tore his deltoid ligament Wednesday night against the Detroit Pistons and will undergo surgery Monday, the team announced. Bogans will miss the rest of the season, a league source confirmed.Bogans suffered the injury in the fourth quarter while trying to deny a dunk by Pistons center Greg Monroe. Bogans came down awkwardly and left the game. An MRI taken Thursday revealed the fracture and the tear.

9)The New Orleans Hornets have announced that point guard Jarrett Jackwill miss the rest of the season with a stress fracture in his rightfoot. Jack injured himself during the team's five-game West-Coast trip. He has missed the last three games.

"Nah, man, 12 athletes injured not by contact, moving without the ball, going AWAY from the basket, jumping or standing on their non-dominant foot, no twisting, jerseys tucked in, at their home arena, in the 3rd quarter, w/ at least 9 points in the game."
