i think you all have been brainwashed into thinking Drake is NOT boring, when clearly he is. dude says nothing of any significance about anything and doesn't even do it that creatively. the guy is generic as they come except he sings sometimes.

J. Cole isn't boring, imo... I don't get why everyone always throws that out there when his name is brought up. Just because he doesn't have that catchy hook or mainstream appeal doesn't make him a boring artist. When I listen to him Im always checking for his new material / have his stuff in rotation because of his lyrical content. I think he's a really good lyricist. & With the amount of mainstream artists out now who lack that, give me J. Cole over most radio / mainstream artists out now.

I definitly see him going the Kweli type route though with his career, I've seen that in him since I started listening to him. That's not a bad thing at all though. I'd take that as a J. Cole fan. He'll have his radio hits to promote his stuff here & there (ie. Get By & I Try like Kweli's career) but he'll end up staying in that zone I think of the Mos / Kweli route... Just not as big of career legend wise. Im not comparing Kweli & Cole, just the same type of style.

J Cole will NEVER be Mos or Kwe...

He'll be more like Shabaam Shadeeq or somethin...

And the BlackStar album dropped before BOTH of them were 25 (Mos was on Da Bush Babees album & Stakes Is High in 96)...

You guys need to set the bar A LOT lower for this dude... I don't see him EVER being better than a Skyzoo or Sha Stimuli (both of whom are actually DOPE)...

name the acts that have been been ultra successful in the last 5-10 years that didnt have a gimmick n did it off talent alone...ill wait...n u cant say Ye or Jeezy or anybody riding the wave of a trend or succesful brand

aint nobody becoming no rap superstar unless u got the ladies...when u get the ladies u good....no matter how good u rap or bad,erything will fall into place after that....in terms of just rap u can stay constant wit a loyal fanbase for as long as u want and stay wit praise...but that dont mean high record sales

i didnt say all of them were, but alot of his beats have the same sound to them. i cant explain it cause I dont know much about making beats but something about them is just similar
I just think he would be better off if he messed with some outside production
