Is Mark Sanchez the next this guy?

Football is full of adjustments.

NFL defenses haven't seen the kid yet, so he got the 1st step on them.

Now they have adjusted n figured him out.

It's up to him now to adjust to them again, and he will.

No reason for Jets fans to worry about a SoCal kid who plays his first game in real cold whether and doesn't do well.

I mean really, how many bad whether games can the Jets have late in the year, each year from here on out?

Nothing to worry about. Braylon will make it all better.

Not callin Sanchez P. Manning but I think the guy has the ability to play.
you're reaching hard.
How is that reaching hard? Peyton Manning threw 29 INTS his rookie year. Did you call him a bust? All he is saying is that Sanchez has the abilityto improve and get better just like Manning did. Thats not saying that he is going to be Peyton Manning.

Manning was a 4 year elite level QB in college, Sanchez has like 15 starts under his belt. Reach.

Manning was on a rebuilding team that was like 1-15 or whatever the year before. The Jets were a 9-10 win type team.

So no doubt Manning was gonna struggle, but he was prepared for it thru 4 years. I would not put Sanchez in the same pedigree of Manning.

Doesn't mean Sanchez won't grow and what not, I'm sure he'll continue to work and improve, but comparing first seasons to Peyton Manning? Comeon.

What worries me is his ability to adjust to the weather. If he can adjust, he'll be a really good QB. But, if he doesn't, then it's going to berough. I think he'll figure it out eventually. It's only been 6 games.

Manning also had 3700 yards and 26 TDs his rookie year. Sanchez will be lucky to have half of that. the potential was always there for Manning tobe a prolific QB, he just had to cut the INTs down.

Peyton Manning is really the wrong guy to use in comparison to Sanchez.

at this point, Sanchez is struggling to even make first downs. and he is getting worse and worse with each week... he went from a victory over NE to not evenbeing able to beat the Bills at home.

What the hell does college stats have anything to do with a QB's rookie season!?

Tom Brady didn't even start his first 2 years at Michigan but isstill arguably better than P. Manning who became a star for the majority of his 4 years at Tennessee.

What a QB did in college is nothing more than a resume. Obviously it determines how high a player will get drafted but after college it's a sink or swimsituation. You either make it..or you don't. The college analogy is stupid because as everyone knows college level stardom does not always equate to thenext great NFL QB.

And for the argument about the Jets season last year. You must have forgotten that Brett Favre had alot to do with those wins as well. Favre was a short termfix for the Jets last year...and they started off hot. Chad Pennington wasn't getting the job done for NY and they got rid of him....

Case in point is this, NY took a gamble with Favre last season because Mangini needed a winning season badly. Favre helped churn out alot of those wins for astruggling offense under Pennington but last years record for the Jets has no real meaning anymore...new coach..new QB..new season...

I still think Sanchez can be a good QB and for DOWNTOWN43 to say Manning is the wrong guy to compare to....how so!? This is about a rookie season...not an entire NFL career at thispoint...a rookie season. Ya'll dudes are so quick to hate..

Are you really this clueless? You don't see the point of a guy playing every single college game for 4 years IN THE SEC, vs a guy playin a year in the pac10?
grin.gif
And you think it's ok to COMPARE the two?

That's flat out ignorant.

Then I want you to point out where I said one word about college stats. I said GAMES and SEASONS played, as in experience, as in readyiness for the NFL. Notone stat did I bring up, so learn how to read.

Bottom line, we're fussin over a guy after 6 games. Too early for that, but we're in a thread guessin how he'll turn out. *shrugs* So farhe's alright, but you seem to be begging for his respect level to reach Peyton Manning's.
laugh.gif
Chad Henne played every game for 4 years in college, think I'm going tostart proclaiming him the next Peyton Manning after beating the Jets?
laugh.gif
Sanchez will be fine if he works hard and studies and all that other stuff you need. He does that, then you guys shouldn't have a problem. But stop withthe Peyton Manning sucked as a rookie comparisons, that's just flat stupid and nonsensical.

He's pretty bad right now but the Jets have no other option but him at the moment. Maybe Pete was right about him leaving too soon.
