Yes but thats not saying much. Iron Man 2 was awful IMO. When you look at the Iron Man franchise, only the first Iron Man really stood out to me as something special. Apparently the first one was so good that it allowed them to make 2 average follow up movies that make a ton of money.
just got back from a 9:00 EST showing and here are my thoughts on it:
1. I don't get the Christmas theme, that kinda took me out of the whole movie from the get go
2. The middle was really slow and he spent too much time with that kid
3. Dude was breathing fire. Nuff' said
4. I think Marvel missed out on an opportunity in not killing Pepper Pots. I like her character but it would have
definitely been a bold move.
5. Making the Mandarin some actor really killed the whole movie for me. In the comic book he's a genuine
bad *** who has magic rings and would have been a great foe on his own. Making him some pawn really
annoyed me.
6. Not enough actions scenes with the suits. There were afew towards the beginning and of course the
end was suit overload but I would have liked more suit action
7. Product placement was over the top but what do you expect
8. The after credits scene was weak

Yeah #5 killed it for me....I was so confused...the after credit scene was a waste of 15 minutes watching credits roll by too...movie was better than 2 for sure, but nothing mind blowing...guess te WOW effect of good CGI is done for a lot of us....seems like fast and furious will reign supreme as summer blockbuster, startrek looks pretty dope too.

This. I was waiting for some sort of twist to happen but nope.
More action was needed though. I give it a 8 , and that's me being generous. Part 2 is still the best imo.
I thought the film was so so (and that's being generous). Nothing really stood out and they made the Mandarin into a flipping joke. The humor in the film kept me amused, but besides that, it was a very average movie. Man of Steel looks like the real deal though.
Breathing fire didn't bother me, it was a nod to the comics where the Extremis actually gave that ability, I was surprised they went that far but glad that it was just a little easter egg for the fans.
After watching for a second time and paying attention to details I noticed the mandarin only had 3 or 4 rings. I'm guessing this was just an introduction to his character and we'll be seeing him in future films.
