Really? I do most of my texting/mobile browsing/twittering in landscape, and that's 75% of my total usage right thereOriginally Posted by Just In Time
It's not like they are going to announce the new iPhone anyways with the iPad releasing. They wont to drive all attention possible to that.
I'm excited about 4.0, but like someone said on the first page...I couldn't wait for 3.0 and really haven't used the features from it. I never do anything in landscape...EVER.

That's what Apple does, and Steve mentioned that in the conference.Originally Posted by NKEAIR
man this was a disappointment
but anyways, the new Iphone WILL DEFINITELY get new features
last year at the 3.0 event, they didnt announce the compass because it was only available for the new iphone
however that was a lame addition, hopefully something comes next year
and yeah, apple is late again 2 years in a row with copy/paste and now multitasking, but although all those other mobile phones had it YEARS and i mean YEARS before, it seems like apple does it right, their copy/paste is the best ive ever used, and im currently on android n1, it sucks to copy/paste
hopefully we can see the same wiht multitask

3GS and future models are the only eligible ones.
Anyone who got the 3G when it first released or still rock with an EDGE model would be due for an upgrade around summertime so if y'all are really feeling left out you got options.
All I wanna know is what the new combination for the ipod controls will be.
If it is double clicking... won't it intefere with multitasking? Or is double clicking on Pandora only available on a lock screen?Originally Posted by NKEAIR

im guessing you double press it, then you select ipod yourself which is my guess
i really wanted a new notification system and new OS
You're scoffing at what the majority of naysayers and people against buying an iphone have been complaining about for awhile now so....yeah. It is kind of a big deal.Originally Posted by superblyTRIFE
Meh.
As sweet as the iPhone is, I get tired of Apple showing up late to the party and then having the general public declare what they do as innovative. Like most of these features have been standard on smartphones for awhile now. Multitasking? App folders? Big deal.
Bottom line is that while Apple products are good, they've managed to secure a consumer base through marketing that will revel and "ooh and ahh" at anything they put out and declare as "new". You gotta give Jobs props for that. It reminds me of Nike and all their gimmicks over the years--Shox, Flywire, etc. None of that crap really works, but the marketing and thought of it appeals to people so it sells.
