INSTYLESHOES = FRAUD or just EXTREMELY SLEAZY??!!

Hi Guys,

I've just received the check (for the first pair sold) last week. The bank told me that I'd have to wait about 6 weeks to see if it will bounce.

All of this is almost too comical.

Steve, I've watched you grow and supported you for years guy but I think they've got some valid points to be considered. Somewhere along the line, you're really going to have to put some distance btw the functions of all these entities and release some of the control to competent people. Otherwise, you'll be fighting this battle as long as you're in existence. I'll leave it at that.

I believe there was some other post where I said something similar to this:

i don't know meth, I have never spoken to him, I have never emailed him or contacted him, etc. I have no reason to suck up (because it seems that if you agree with someone on niketalk sometimes people think your trying to "Ride" them or something)

From what I see here Meth is a stand up guy. The issue at hand here is that someone didn't get their money. Steve wrote a long reply taking shots at niketalk and their staff.

GIVE ME A BREAK, nike talk is not a business. When was the last time anyone bought something from niketalk?

Talking about a Message board's staff (a message board in my mind which is still about the "Shoe Head") is as absurd as making the originator of this post, and others who also had a problem, wait for their money.

Talks about niketalk's decline have been going on for years. If your looking to find trouble with something you will find it. If your looking to accept something you will.

Niketalk has its flaws, but its still a place where I can come and feel at home.

I never saw Meth as trying to take down steve. all of his comments were from the perspective that the originator of this post was frauded along with other people.

just for the record and I don't care if i am flammed To
Meth, Jrose5, Collie,Dirtylicious, AirRev (whether he is or isn't still a mod, lol) and all of the other Mods on here, Thanks for talkin time out to do the best by niketalk. Its enough for me.

Peace to all.

P.s. I hope for those of you gettin checks they don't bounce.

Did the original person that made this post get his money yet?I did not read smything about this yet and have read the post since the start.

^ 160jordansdeep, my previous post is on the top of page 16. Cheers,

after being like 6 months late, you think they might have the courtesy to make a money order or something

wow, what kind of check would take 6 weeks to clear? i thought it only took a few business days or something.

...that's how long it takes to cash a foreign currency cheque with most banks in Australia. It's got nothing to do with ISS

I'm amazed at Steve's audacity to come out and call Meth unethical. There's hardly a person I know that has more integrity and more intrinsic love for the things he does than Method Man. Calling Steve's comment ironic would be understatement at least.

I have yet to find a valid point in Steve's reply - Meth took it all apart, and there's not much to it. Next time Steve wants to call out a staff member, he should better do it on his own board, because here he WILL get a counter opinion.

Hell yeah.

Thanks for your reply in our name, Alex.

The good times are behind NT

This is a message board for Christ sake!!

You make it sound like a damn Dickens novel.

Anyone who takes this community seriously enough to have "fond memories of days bygone" needs to get there head checked.

Ive been here since about '01 and I enjoy it just as much(if not more) now than I ever did.

NT gives us a chance to stare at sneaker pictures and laugh at the hilarious things people say, THATS IT!

Do you really think that when I have a grandkid sitting on my knee in 50 years im gonna say to him, "During 2002-2003 NT really hit its prime, shoulda been there."

GET OVER IT!

Same thing I thought while reading it. It was less of a bullet and more like a paint ball or bb.

Now lets see if Niketalk admins do the right thing or if they just fire back meaningless banter

I dont understand what the Niketalk admins did wrong anyways????? All they did was bring this topic to light, and create a forum to discuss all the problems.

Steve's response to everything seems like Bush's response to the Iraq war, all he does is avoid the question........Its like, hey over here, unemployment is down!!! No Child Left Behind is working!!!! Taxes are being cut......What, the Iraq War......um....Our economy is getting stronger.......
Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear - not absence of fear.

Seems like everytime Steve is confronted with a situation he's always goes offtopic and doesn't stick with the point.

Reading this post over and over again, I still haven't found a valid point in his reply.

Seems like he's the one with the grudges.

Just spend what, 2 hours? reading all 16 pages.

Don't know what to think, but it wouldn't matter anyways. Only time will tell.

However, I was more shocked reading about Retired Jordan being a fraud.

I've been "away" here for some time, so I missed it. Wasn't Retired Jordan a.k.a. Ruben, the guy with the MANY OG jordans, some very rare ones?

Or am I mistaken him for someone else? I do know Retired Jordan was a "high roler".

You're correct, Dutch. You're talking about the same person.

^ So exactly what happened to him? How was he found out to be a fraud? Was all his OG AJ I stolen or just fakes? Although a bit off topic I am still very very very curious about this...

I went thru a similar experience with instyleshoe.com. Here is what happened to me:

I had about 200 pairs of brand new in the box shoes, and I decided to sell half of them quick because I was moving back to Taiwan for some unforseen reasons. I contacted Steve because I knew he was one of the few could buy these shoes off me at once.

He first asked about a list of shoes that I wanted to sell. Fair, I wrote a detail list and fax him the next day. I waited several days, and there was no answer. So, I contacted him again, Steve said he lost the list. Of course, I fax him another copy right away.

Anyway, I waited several days for his offer. The offer was pretty low, but I was ok with it, since I need to get rid of my shoes quick. He told me if everything goes well, I will receive my money within 2 weeks after I send in my shoes.

Here comes the problem. After I sent my shoe, he told me his money is kind tight, so he can only send my a deposit first, then he would wire my rest of the money later. I agreed. After I received my first depoist, no more money was coming to my account. At that time, I was already back in Taiwan. I e-mailed him several times, and he always promised me I would see some money in my account. Of course, I did not see anything. I waited and waited, and I stared to call him on the phone from Taiwan. Calling international is very expensive, and I had to do this constantly. Steve always had some excuses, things like he was on the road or something. I did receive some money in the whole process, little by little, but it was really annoying. At the last time, I had to call him and leave him like 2 messages saying I was going to take legal action against him.

Yes, I received all my money, but it took me about 7 months. Do I think Steve is a fraund? Probably not, but I don't think he is a honest business man.

I don't care if your company is understaffed, because it is not a excuse for not paying people. Period. I have no problem with his pricing of shoes, because this is a free country, and he is not doing anything illegal. However, it is the way he does business that fraustarted me. Since then, I have not bought any shoes from him, even though he does have some stuff I want.

Wow :eek

, another testimony of Instyleshoes' poor business practices.
