I did get hit up for one of those and one of the first thing they mentioned was if you're open to relocation. From my research folks talked about the Google data center environment fondly though, with great yearly comp and opportunities to grow.

I got LinkedIn premium so now when I apply to opportunities on there, I can see all kinds of data sets: how many applicants, average age of who applied, how many, geographical location, education, etc. How does one even break through on the fully remote opportunities? I think I have mabe been contacted 2 or 3 times from LinkedIn, but literally places are getting 100s of applications a day especially if they have Easy Apply option available.

Also these jobs are getting OD with requirements. I realize experience can be concurrent but you see 5 years Windows, 5 Years Linux, 5 Years VDI experience, etc. one time I added it up and it was like 40 years experience. How old do you want an applicant to be? Think its jsut another gatekeep

Yea at this point Im convinced Hr departments or whoever does listings are far disconnected from the It department or whoever they’re creating listings for and just throw in all the buzzwords they know. Sys admins aint doing nothing with AI other than googling "how to ...." for something they have never done like creating a GPU the first time and using powershell scripts for wholesale changes.

I'm not even convinced at this point all the acronyms and systems they want you to have extensive experience in are even real. Looks like they just be throwing letters together. Must have 15 yrs expertise in ABCD, 5 yrs in EFG administration. **** outta here. If I was fully fully remote I'd be taking some of these to double up but I go on site 2 days a week and behind a SCIF at that so theres no way to me to finangle it so I can be doing both
