I did. I let them overlap about 3 weeks, probably could have gotten away with it longer since it was easy *** job I already had put in 2 weeks on and that beginning stage in a new job where you're not terribly busy because youre just filling out paperwork and getting your accesses to things.

I got scared because both used my secret clearance and I thought the newest would pull it from the other or vice versa and they'd find out then I would get fired and have no job. To be fair, that 1st job I admittedly took as a stopgap knowing I had the 2nd one in the works already but they were like it'll be 6 weeks so I took this job at Immigration that was a massive underpay and the lady who I was working under and about to replace was literally weeks from retiring so she didnt even pretend to have any ****s left so it was an easy gig. Again pay was low so they really wanted someone less senior than me, like a 3rd yr type person. 56k isn't bad in Oklahoma actually, but I'm passed that. The Immigration job wasnt dully remote, it was kind of do your own thing. So I decided. I'd come in, check in with the most important people to see if they needed something then peace out and maybe do the same in the afternoon. ServiceNow was set up incredibly where anyone can put a ticket in very easily and it'd fill in all the info I needed so I could fix most problems without even contacting the user.

But my current job, we just jave too many zoom calls. Back then I'd just mute myself but I am point on too many projects now and have to talk so it'd be difficult right now
 
So the only issue would potentially be legal issue would be using resources from job 1 to do job 2 right, presumably you'll have a laptop from each so thats just common sense to avoid crossing those lines

For example, sitting at Job 1 doing Job 2 work, but everyone brings their own laptops from home to work to stream sports, pandora, etc. so nobody would think twice of you sitting in your cubicle with a 2nd laptop. Just a dont get caught thing imo but completely negated in the case of work from home.

If we're honest with ourselves, a lot of I.T is waiting, even when active you're clicking then waiting. You could time 2 jobs at once pretty easily imo in terms of the work its just meetings. So many zoom meetings that would be an issue.

Try like a Service Desk Tier 2 type of job for job 2 where you're just in a Remedy queue and pulling easy tickets, unlocking peoples accounts in active directory type stuff. TheITSC had some like that where you could even make your own schedule

Thought of doing it, but as a couple of the responses mentioned, finding time on my meeting days will be tricky and lately, we got a lot of projects we're working on.
 
IT is the fire department. Unless you’re working on projects - which are set dates.

Them meetings be killing me :lol:

i had an overlap as well - 6 months lmao. but job 1 was my main and job was min of 20 hours a week because they couldn't back fill the position. funny you say servicenow but thats what ive been doing and been getting a lot of looks.

Thought about it. Kinda did it for a week and realized that it might have actually worked but I had already submitted my two weeks. Actually thought about retracting it :lol:. Both were gov contracting jobs so I figured it’s not technically legal? But the old job was too stressful especially since it was more customer facing. But it can definitely be done as long as meetings don’t conflict like others have said.

I'm Mid-Career Network Technology path. Been working in ISP-Telco for last 11yrs almost a SME on all things SIP and on the current switch platform for our Voice Network. Next year I should hit Sr. Voice Eng.

Basically. This was my biggest hurdle going from Operations to Engineering. Going from putting out fires everyday and getting quick/easy Ws to long, drawn out projects where you are waiting for a site to get deployed, fiber runs, equipment orders, etc.. Those due dates come up fast..lol

Learned a **** ton more about networking.

Focus is on security...
But it's kind of Whatever job comes first for me.
Either I'm going to do web design with JS and or python, or protecting someone network.

Personally I'd like to work with Vision A.I. I love flying drones, and it's amazing how these companies have embedded Machine learning, and A.I. into these devices.

Did that for 6 months on my last project. We called it the War Room lol. Glad it's over though.

I don't know nothing about patch management and end point device management software
 
They all basically just use Windows services and have intuitive GUIs that make it look like their software is doing it. They havent contacted me back about this study yet. I need this 2 bills rn
