they might have been left in the light for to long, my girlfriend left a pair of boots (the same material) out in the sun and they turned a smoky grey color

That price isn't a shock, I've seen these on clearance racks for ~$60..
As for the upper sole being "smokey", that's probably due to the yellowing effects of having an "icey" sole mixed with a whitebackground to them..

I've heard of this happening when people leave them either in the sun or a hot damp environment and/or around smoke or near a heating vent. Not sure ifSea Glow would help these? Anyone know? But, I agree with what has been stated above, if the pictures on the auction represented them as looking icey thenyou have grounds for a PayPal discpute, just don't expect to get your $$$$ back by Christmas. Plus, you could probably find these a little cheaper thanyou bought them for if you look around at legit stores online or shop around your local stores. Not a huge demand for these.

These look like factory seconds, saw these at the outlet couple weeks back and some had this brownish tint to the sole.
