With your CC and Loan debt being so much, are you trying to run your own business, or is it strictly school related?

I we are counting mortgage I got you all beat.

If not...only a few thousand left on my student loans at 3% I am just chipping away at it.

No car note. No CC debt.

Why do you have over 5k in CC debt when you have 6k in savings? The interest your savings account is earning is way less then the interest yourpaying on that CC debt. There is no point in having a savings account if your in debt.

Personally, Im 12k in the hole for 4 years of college. Not bad IMO.

On the other hand my sister has over 200k in student loans

not only that...but also aging from 24 to 27 in a span of 10 days will also make you accumulate more debt.

CC bills are debt. They're the worst kind because the interest rate is usually high.

Breaks down as
106 mortgage
9k 2005 Honda Accord Hybrid
8k Studet Loans

-$5,136
Credit Card Debt
Breaks down as
3.2k on Amex (Paid off in two months)
800 for a tv for a friend he paid me back yesterday
1.1 misc - paid in full this Friday

After 5 years of college, $5250 in Student Loans at a rate of 1.6%
Currently owe $1600 on my credit card.

My tip to those still in college with Student Loan Debt--make payments to that ishhh while you're still in college. I'm not scheduled to officiallybegin making monthly payments on the school loans until 2010, and I'm not scheduled to be done paying until 2020. Over the 10 years that my re-payments arespread out, I will accumilate roughly about $2000+ in interest payments ALONE. My response to that-- HELL ^*&$)_# NOOOOOO!!!

So I've been making payments to my student loans while still in school, word to Student Labor and Work Study. Generally, I've contributed anywhere from$50- $150 a month. Point is, every little bit counts. Just some helpful tips...

The CC debt will be paid this Friday. Wait to have an emergency fund since the wife and I both work in Banking, you never know what might happen.

I'm 27.... Still got roughly 19k to pay off for student loans. Just paid all but 200 of my Cc's. Still owe 13000 on my car. And another 4 on a personalloan I took out a few years ago. Retail addiction sucks.........

What the hell? Is she studying to be a doctor or something?

Yea she is in med school right now, but most of it came from her undergrad. She went to Hopkins which is pretty expensive.
