How good are the XIIIs for balling?

I play ball in XII's a lot too, and also XVII for the ankle support, but they're way too old to wear now.
I don't trust XIII's one bit, I keep sliding on and off the court using that. In terms of grip and comfortable, go for XII.
But if you would really like to play ball on the XIII, get the last retro of Flint XIII before they came out last year. They're a lot better imo, and the reflective upper is there unlike the recent one.

the laces on teh xiii were a huge pain to me when playing in them, they'd come loose A LOT.

Yes the 13 laces always come loose becauseThey are too hard. Durable but very annoying.the og 13 are among the most comfortjordans, while the retros are average.

Traction issues.

OGs weren't too durable. I doubt Retros are any better.

Positives: Decent court feel, cushioning, support/fit is actually pretty good.

I loved the grip i hated the creasing and the overall durability of the sneaker i felt like i was destroying them lol

My 05 blk/reds were very comfortable when i hooped in em....i'm not sure about the more recent retros, but from experience (i also had the OG 13s back in HS), 13s were some of the most comfortable pairs of jordan i've worn.

they are great for balling in. Cushioning is okay until i removed the canvas material on top of the zoom bags then it was great. The phylon is pretty stiff though. court feel is average.
Heel to to transition is awesome there is no slapping at all
traction is good i haven't had problems with the grip and i was playing on a not so well kept court. it could be better if more herringbone was used in the forefoot but its not bad by any means
The fit and lockdown are great the hidden lacing system really does a nice job with having the upper lock over your foot. Therre is no heel slip at all and no movement within the shoe that i found
the rubber pods on the side really help with stability its hard to roll your ankle in this shoe and cutting is easy because the extra layer overlay and rubber pods act as great support.
Ankle support is top notch was well lacing this shoe up all the way (i usually only use the top eyelet not both but thats just a personal preference that i found works better for my feet.)
Only downfall to this shoe is breathability. It's bad. the perforations on the tongue are not functional for dissipating heat they are just for looks.
the shoe is pretty light too. For back then of course but i don't feel like it drags me down.
The collar is pretty high hp so that might feel a little restrictive but i found that overtime breaking them in helped.
i've only played in the most recent retro from 2010 and they are pretty good. the materials just need to be broken in, they've held up really well for me.
