How do I improve my singing voice?

Recently went out to karaoke with some new coworkers and I got clowned on real bad for trying to sing Chandelier by Sia. I always thought I had a decent singing voice but apparently I'm terrible. Anyone got any singing tips or youtube videos they can recommend? I mainly pick R&B and pop songs. I really need to come back and kill it on the mic next time because I think I may have lost they're respect.

I've heard the opposite. Anyone can sing they just need to train there voice.

If everybody can learn to sing, why mad American idol auditions have so many terrible singers.
I'm sure vocal lessons helped few people but It's possible but very unlikely..

& costs are expensive like 150 hour

American Idol wasn't the best example to give to make that point.

That song is sung in a high registry , if you have a deeper voice and cant hit those high falsetto notes try something in you're range ...maybe sinatra
