this thread is ridiculous as well as this post, toro bravo pack was nt all over the place for 200 neither where cdp and DEFINITELY not the infra red pack, toro bravo was just like any release back then pretty obtainable but they weren't all over for 200 the only cdp's that where 200 where the 1-22, the 2-21 pack and i saw some 5-18 packs cheap as well, and the infra red pack i would love to know where u found this for under retail or even 400 after release date they sold out online instantly on every website believe me i struck out on EVERY WEBSITE the night of release and just b/c u see one pair sitting in a low volume store on clearance but yet go for 500+ online doesn't mean they sat
Nope. Everything I said in my post was true. Sorry.
I didn't say they were available on clearance at every Foot Locker in the country. I said they were attainable. Every pack except the 11/12 and the 10/13 (bc that was the first one) was basically available for below retail through stock locate. Ditto Toro Bravo. Ditto Infrared Pack. 6/17 was hard to find too.
And, FTR, I didn't buy a single CDP anyway - just some singles from the B-grade outlet drops.
I know what resell is - what does that have to do with their price at the of release? I sold an Infrared pack a few months ago for close to $700. That's great - they still could have been had for $199 after release if you knew how to work the system.
Are you going to tell me that black cement 3s weren't 39.99 in 1994 too, just because they were fetching $600 at some point?
A lot of the stuff that hits the racks becomes "grails" because people didn't care about them at the time and they got beat into the ground. That's how supply dwindles. None of the stuff that's released today will ever be super valuable because everything is re-released every few years and the people who buy them don't even wear them. Supply doesn't actually fall.
Watch though, in the next few years we'll see an even newer infusion of wannabe sneakerheads and they'll be calling the junk of the mid-2000s their "grails." ...Crap like Peapod 8s that stores couldn't give away. ...Just like Laney 5s and Mocha 3s before them. ...And to go back to the OG, just like Carmines, Maroons, Sport Blues before them.
