Honda Accord or Kia Optima or Nissan Altima or.....

Same. I drive an 09 aveo5, no major problems so far and it was affordable. I think I want either a sonata (if thats the one with the blinkers on the side mirrors), a new body chevy malibu, or a corolla S now, though.

That kia optima looks nice, but that logo and that price are a turn off for it. They need a logo instead of the word on the front of everything.

My mom is getting a new Sonata. With the package/options she's getting, I was shocked to see it's $28k. But for everything she's getting for the money, it seems like a great deal.

what about a sonata?

im looking to get a new fuel efficient car myself. been leaning towards a ford focus hatchback. love the looks of the new one and they get good gas mileage.

No 19K.

I haven't driven the new accord but I do like the Optima a lot. The interior of the Optima is nicer..

First impressions of the 2012 Kia Optima's interior are exceptionally favorable. Where most other family sedans in this segment fall somewhere between sedate and bland, the Optima has a distinct European flair. And that should come as no surprise when you consider that Kia's chief designer used to work for Audi. While the Kia's interior isn't as sumptuous as an Audi's, there's an abundance of soft-touch materials, and any hard plastics are at least well textured.

That said I like the Altima as well. I ust like the way it rides. Its comfortable but isn't floaty/absent like other vehicles can be. The CVT is pretty responsive as well unlike what you get in some other vehicles like the fords or the suzuki kizaski(which is worth considering as well).

Please, please, please, please don't get an altima. I had two. The first one was considered a lemon after 38 visits within the first 7-8 months. I got into a new one which was the second year of the newer generation & it had issues to so I sold it to Carmax for a profit. I will never ever buy another nissan again.

The 2012 8 speed charger 19 city 31 highway. Good in my book. Has power, and all the thrills you need.

I have a 2012 Altima as a daily driver and a 2009 350z.

To summarize the Altima, it is a good compact car. With average to good performance. The car is long and very spacious. The seats are way to low as opposed to other cars -annoying. The interior is what you would expect on cars like this, mostly plastic. Push/Start button, nav and Bose speakers are available. Costs about $70 to fill it up at $4/gallon, and this lasts for a good 400 miles. But, it is not a freaking corrola so it takes more gas - but it is also not as bad as other cars (once you're in the gas station and you see those prices, you'll definitely cringe). Top speed is limited to 125, although dash says 160mph. It is faster than most cars it's price range and some higher, you'll hit 80-90 mph without noticing it but don't expect some 0-60 under 5 performance. Also Nissan service sucks! They hire the worst in every freaking dealership. Price wise - I bought mine all cash at about 25k with some tech upgrades..

bottom line, it is the cheapest out of your three options, it is easy to maintain, average-to-good performance, looks better than most cars that are comparable to it.

Altima will be the most fun to drive thats for sure.

I have a 2011 Camry that I can get 400 miles out of easy, and I have a heavy foot and still imagine myself as Paul Walker a few times.

Toyota Camry. Other cars may have it also, but I know for sure with my Camry, when I use synthetic oil, it last 10,000 miles before the next oil change.

i have an 05 altima and have nothing but good things to say about the car and the service. my next car will be a nissan for sure.

out of the three you mentioned, id probably opt for the Kia Optima. The 10 year 100K mile powertrain warranty would give me the peace of mind i need.

Optima is the easy choice. The interior, exterior, warranty and standard features kill everything. In my experience, Kia is bulletproof.

It's probably nice... but i'm sure you won't be getting a deal on them like the current Altimas.

Gonna hit up Carmax in a lil bit... might end up getting a used challenger

That really doesn't show anything, all that's been revealed is pretty much just that taillight.

Actually the new Car and Driver shows how it is going to look, and it does look like a distinct improvement from last gen...and last gen doesn't even look bad. The new Altima will be similar to the current 7th Gen Maxima. It will have headlights like the 370z
