So basically because they quit the robbing was over, no harm no foul?

not really because if you don't rob a house then you don't put yourself in this kind of situation
I'd be entirely more sympathetic to the 80 year old man in that instance because that's a clear-cut case of self-defense.So if he had shot and killed them when they were roughing him up, it would be a non-issue...right?
I mean, not only was his house being burglarized, he was assaulted.
I wouldn't find him guilty of anything if I was on that jury.

@ am1 writing a screenplay.
I don't even think the pregnancy issue is all that relevant.she was probably 5 hours pregnant
I don't even think the pregnancy issue is all that relevant.
What's more relevant was that she was shot down while she was retreating, still alive, and the dude still decided that she needed another bullet in her.
Well...what's worth more to you: your material possessions or your freedom?I mean I get from a legal standpoint this is gonna cause issues both ways no matter what the outcome is but in the heat of the moment after your house was just robbed by two people...I don't even think the pregnancy issue is all that relevant.

all bets are off to me at that point

Lolwutermelon.Lol abortion is legal yet people still talk about how the baby is a victim. Why is it a baby now and not a fetus? Because its useful for liberals to attack guns? Yep.
Anyway he did what he had the right to do. Dont mess with people's homes.
Well...what's worth more to you: your material possessions or your freedom?
Wait...I'm probably asking this question on the wrong forum.
so you're saying that if you shot her once and she was down and out of commission, you'd finish her off? Because all bets are off at that point?
Was she really pregnant? Either way it was stupid. You go breaking into someone's house you NEVER know what that can bring, and you're in the wrong. I mean, if she was pregnant, killing her was a bit extreme imo, I would have shot her in the lower extremity to slow her down or something and called the cops, but that's easy to say when it didn't happen to me and I'm not in that moment.
nobody in here said that he doesnt have a right to own a gun and nobody said he doesn't have a right to guard his home. the issue at hand is the pursuing and if you feel that you are in danger while pursuingIf the 80 year old didn't have a gun, then what? On top of it all, this was the 2nd time his house was burglarized.
You're not getting it.I don't own a gun so this isn't about me; this is about the story at hand, let's focus on thatWell...what's worth more to you: your material possessions or your freedom?

What I'm saying is: hypothetically, if you were in his situation and had a gun, would you have done what he did?
I mean...."all bets are off," right?
But who's to be sure that they were fleeing the premises or simply running to the car to get a gun of their own? Who's to say that the pregnant woman couldn't have had a weapon concealed herself and used it after she told him to stop shooting? These are all split second decisions, and could have definitely happened, therefore I think the man was justified in shooting the lady mortally...you just never know
look at what I said immediately following that, I understand that it isn't.Was she really pregnant? Either way it was stupid. Look, Stillin...I like you. You're a good poster, but I see what people mean when they say you're a master deflector.what am I not getting? I can't say what I would do in that situation but considering I don't have a gun nor ever have it's hard to place myself in itYou're not getting it.

do you want to keep typing the same thing out and over and over until you hear the answer you prefer?
put me on a jury and I would most likely find the dude not guilty
