I'm Throwing An "Ugly Christmas Sweater" Party Next Weekend & I Am Looking For Some NT Pro Tips, Do's & Don'ts With This Type Of Party. All My Parties I'veThrown Have Always Been Backyard BBQ's So This Is Uncharted Territory's [emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji]

the shhh is mad corny and played.

just have a damn christmas party.

-but the white elephant game is always fun

-have plenty of drinks and make a "punch" that the people who don't drink alot will drink. 

something that tastes really good but has alcohol in it.  apple cidar is a good holiday drink. 

basically you want everyone to lose the edge

-if you have a bluetooth speaker and a music subscription service and an ipad you could start a playlist and pass around the ipad so everyone can pick a song they would want to hear. basically a jukebox. 

- make it a potluck

White Elephant (at least how we do it at work)

Everyone brings in a wrapped gift. Usually something tacky (under $20...)

Everyone who participates gets a #

Let's say 20 people are playing, everyone is numbered 1-20.

All #'s are placed in a hat.

Hat is passed and everyone takes a #, but doesn't disclose what it is. Keep that close to the vest.

Person who drew #1 goes first and gets to pick a gift out of the pile. Gift is opened.

Person #2 can either pick a new gift (and open it) OR take the gift from person #1

Person #3 can take a new gift (and open it) OR take either gift from person #1 or person #2

This goes on and on.

Bottom line, the higher your number, the better.

Game is a lot of fun and there's usually non-stop laughing.

Get a decent mixture of different types of drinks,somebody mentioned punch,not really a holiday type drink but rum punch is easy and always appreciated.Get heavy stuff for the alcoholic types and lighter stuff for the social drinkers.
