Hinge Takeover >>> Tinder, Bumble Pof

Yeah, the fact that they have to tell people this makes me thing they deserved to be scammed. Then to add to it, they are giving conflicting advice. They are telling people to be careful of anyone "escalating" which can be interpreted differently by everyone, while saying "be careful of anyone who doesn't want to meet offline". Some chicks are legit on there wasting dudes time looking for texting buddies.
I never understood this. Why would a woman (or a man for that matter) want a texting buddy? Is that the 2022 version a virtual bff? Or is it supposed to be like a fake partner? Just doesn’t make sense to me :lol

But your overall point, yeah I think people need to just not be dumb and do their homework. You’re never going to get hurt by exerting caution when skeptical in these situations where your safety could be in jeopardy or you could be exposing yourself financially. There’s also too many options out there to be taking unnecessary risks or going out of your way.

BRUH! I I just watched this
:wow:
He really had those women on a string. It was a Ponzi Scheme and the yambs were his investors. Ironically, I was doing some swiping during my watch and this popped up on Bumble

We’re in the age of Romance Scamming and he was scamming “friendships too.”Wild
:smh:

I feel bad for the women but you can’t just be giving out tens of thousands of dollars or taking out hundreds of thousands of dollars in loans for someone that’s not family/damn near blood or who you recently met online
The fourth red flag is the creepiest imo

How you get bamboozled out your $ online? just log out lol

I assume you aren’t speaking of the situation in the documentary but the man in question wasn’t just conversing with with these women online. He was flying all over with/to meet them. His scheme wasn’t really that elaborate but I do wonder where he got the initial capital from to kick off the scheme and establish his wealthy image.

I know he was stealing money and his jewelry was fake but there was a lot going on with stuff that had to be paid for like the foreign vehicles, private jets? Penthouse suites, dinners, bottle service, etc.

The same reason pen pals existed. Same reason people use message boards, social media or form friendships via online game play etc What people call it may vary but the concept is the same.

To boost up their self-esteem and ego. They can show people that they are "highly sought after".

2022 equivalent to my GF goes to another school.
Dude made 10 mil and only did 5 months. That's a come up
Did he have to give "all" the money back for that low of a sentence. Because if not...

I would have 5 stashed in off shore accounts, 4 here and 1 to float the various lies. Get out be like Andy Dufresne.

a "texting buddy" is like a pen pal for a dude thats locked up....

definitely to boost your ego and "sext" off the late night...

weird vibes... scary hours

you know these h**s want validation or pen pals. I've talked to them and convo is going well but when it's time to discuss meeting up, they disappear

He didn't even get convicted for scamming the girls that's all free money in fact the girls are still on the hook cuz they're the ones that forged documents and took out the loans I forget what he got convicted for but he got right out and got right back to work 🤷🏾‍♂️

Yeah man, it was wild. The two main women who were featured in the documenary that spearheaded his takedown were talmbout how they were happy the story went viral and he went to jail....meanwhile one is paying back the $250K she lent him and the other is still living with her folks after she lent him the money she was going to use for a downpayment on a crib |l

And like dontsteponmyshoes dontsteponmyshoes said, ole boy got out and he's back on social media posting pictures of shopping sprees at luxury brand stores, hopping in and out of Bentley, Raris, etc. It's insane and I can't tell if it's partially because he's in a place like Israel where the justice system is different but I feel ole boy would have gotten it much worse in the US 🤷‍♂️

Didn't realize it was like this out there :smh:

I think it's more so the fact that these pen pal seeking birds are on dating/hook-up sites. I may be out of the loop but there have to be platforms that exist solely for text buddies, online BFFS, etc...

It's become really problematic the past 2 years also. :smh: :smh: :smh:

Yeah, just dead the convo if it appears that's what they are doing.

Didn't think about this but with COVID and the subsequent lockdowns, quarantines, restrictions, etc. I guess it makes sense that more yambs would be moving like that. They definitely shouldn't be on dating sites but reporting them might be too petty (but they'd be quick to do it to one of us |l)

Simon got locked up for passport fraud to begin with - they can’t charge him for playing the ladies - there was no legal documentation about his borrowing the money from the girls

Yes absolutely - I've been in the 'game' for a while and you can spot a 'time waster' a mile away. Some of the profiles are ridiculous also - 'love to travel', 'have kids', 'looking for a relationship' but make every possible excuse to NOT link up for a drink/coffee at a public place/restaurant. :smh: :smh: :smh:

storm2006 storm2006 I'm in Canada and our 'lockdowns' have been far more frequent and longer than the US - that said it's possible to link up for a coffee and go for a walk. Initially I was reporting the 'influencers' and the 'texters/Zoomers/Webexers and virtual gatherers' but (at least in Canada and in my age demographic of 30+) they have taken over the online dating platforms.

The good news is that we have some of our restrictions lifted and there's all types of protests all over the country - however some of the narratives are twisted but even us 'normies/regular folk' are at our limits despite being vaccinated and using 'vaccine passports'. Can't wait for 'real life'! :emoji_fire::emoji_fire::emoji_fire:
