High school Grad/College Freshmen Gifts and neccessities?

What do the kids these we days prefer as gifts for HS grad that could also be used going in college? Nike Backpacks, Tumi? Cologne, Airpods, obv cash.. and what would you have wanted with you going into college too that would've made campus living a lil easier

Maybe get them a Xaomi scooter to traverse campus (the Lime, Bird, Hellbiz, etc) or a bike
