Concerning Ebay, I also had a seller contact me after I won a BIN auction for a pair of Kobe 4's last week. Incidentally, I paid via Paypal and seller shipped out right away. Rec'd them quickly, they were fine and I was satisfied.
What the seller did was contact me 1 day after I rec'd the kicks and asked that I confirm to Ebay that I wanted to cancel the auction so the seller could recoup his Ebay fees (listing & payment).
Now grated, he already shipped the sneakers and got his payment from me.
I figured I would just ingorne the guy thinking this was shady. Second if the seller didn't want to sell on Ebay and pay the fees no one forced him too. Third, the price I paid for the Kobe IV's was a normal BIN price, nothing fantastic and
not a steal by any means so it's not like he lost out.
Anyway, about 5 days later I get a warning letter email from Ebay stating I needed to pay for the item since I didn't agree to cancel the auction. It said that if I didn't pay for the item within 48 hours
I would get a strike and negative rating for failing to fullfill the terms of the auction. At this point I contacted the Ebay resolution center and had to explain in detail how I paid for the item and rec'd the item.
It took some time because I also had to email a copy of my paypal invoice. I haven't heard anything back from Ebay yet but the whole was situation left a bad taste in my mouth and was a time killer and a pain in the butt.
Damn shady sellers on ebay, always trying to scam. FYI, the seller was located in NY. If you PM me I'll give you his name.
