Help us build a library with Room to Read & earn a special badge for your account!

I don't like you @methodical management because you always suspend me for stuff that everyone else does as well. But this is a great cause. Donated suckas !!!!!

You already know. Thanks NT for setting this up! Sorry was late on this one but always glad to get involved even in the smallest way possible.

Tap. Tap. Pull.

I'd be happy to give you a badge, but I'm not seeing your contribution anywhere.  The contribution before (@TypeRPinoY) and after (@superswag) yours are clearly listed.  Yours isn't there.

I don't suppose you had a problem following the directions, did you?

The ISS donation is associated with their 14th anniversary promotion, covered in this thread:  http://niketalk.com/t/608864/instyleshoes-give-back-14-14-year-anniversary-give-back-to-niketalk

They decided to contribute it towards our group fundraiser to maximize its effectiveness.

This was IN ADDITION to the 1% of revenue they pledged earlier in the year, which ALSO benefited Room to Read in a donation made this summer.

I imagine we'll talk more about that at the conclusion of this campaign, when we detail NikeTalk and ISS' 2014 contributions and have an update for you on our most recent Room to Read project, an original children's book to be published in South Africa.

Why?  Every dollar gets matched AND helps us compete in this week's bonus challenge.

Or did you think that the world is now "full up" on books, libraries, and scholarships?

I can only speak for myself, but you couldn't be more wrong. Seeing that huge pledge made me happy. I wouldn't have offered to chip in more if I couldn't keep my end of the bargain.

Well done instyleshoes instyleshoes

We were more than happy to use the 14 for 14 (Our $14 giveback for every sale on our site) towards this great idea.

Thanks @ Methodical Management for sharing.

We'll also do a social media push to get our followers in on this

There's no doubt that @INSTYLESHOES  generous contribution helped us make it into this list, but we need to keep the pace up to stay there.

To keep our lead and give Room to Read a chance at another $5,000, we'll need your help!  Let's make another push to secure that bonus funding.  The cost of another library is at stake here.
I can appreciate that.  Unfortunately, it's often the case that people look at a contribution like ISS' and present that as an excuse - like what they contribute doesn't matter in comparison or that they don't need to contribute because someone with deeper pockets will take care of it.

Part of our purpose here is to demonstrate how powerful we are as a community when we all work together.  Those $10 and $25 contributions from individual users have gone a LONG way, both here and in our disaster relief fundraisers.

Anyone who volunteered to contribute extra for each $1,000 raised should have seen just how successful we were in raising money for Japan, Somalia, and the Philippines.  Our community's success thus far shouldn't come as a surprise to them.

I'm pleased to report that Room to Read has WON an additional $5,000 for finishing among the top 10 teams in this past week's bonus challenge!

https://www.crowdrise.com/skollsechallenge

If you're keeping track at home, that's $10,000 in bonus funds, $6,000 and counting in direct contributions, and that's WITHOUT including the post-campaign match from the Skoll foundation, and Room to Read's own Destination Literacy program!

This week, the 20 organizations that earn the most will receive a $5,000 bonus.  That will be a tall order, but we're already off to a great start thanks to ANOTHER contribution from @INSTYLESHOES, this one personal.

Remember, every day we contribute $100 or more, Room to Read will be entered for a chance to win an extra $1,000.

You all have been amazing thus far.  The Social Entrepreneurs challenge placed a lot of bonus dollars on the table, and you've capitalized on that.  Two weeks, two bonus challenge WINS - enough to sponsor two new libraries on its own.

Suffice it to say, Room to Read is both thrilled by and grateful for your generous support - as am I.

It's been a privilege, guys.  Let's keep it up.
