For instance other substitutes are "Helluva, hell of a lot, hecka, etc." Saying the phrase "hell of a lot" gets too long sometimes, so people usually it gets cut to 'hella lot.'

we say hella in the midwest, mostly thugs and hippies i hear saying it

Lol. Been saying hella since I was 5. NorCal folks been spreading the word when they move outta state. I hear Hawaiians and even cats from Kansas and Providence using it. This would be kinda cool It was a scientific measurement.

Man, I've been using "Hella" since I was a kind in elementary school and I'm 28 and I'm from SoCal.

I guess I got it from fam tho who are from the Bay.

It's funny, cuz I use "Hella Big" as a measuring statement on the regular.

I'm not even gonna lie...I like hella.

and this win is epic for North Cali.

i cant give specific citations but i've heard the word "hella" in a lot of mainstream movies and non-reality TV shows with no connection to norcal. but i will admit that i thought everyone said it until college where the population was half LA/SD, half Bay Area...then grad school where everybody is from the east coast, nobody says it. i approve of this though.

NorCal stays taking L's like the crappy giants

LA>>>>>>>>>
