Since you lumped Haslem in there with Pittman, I was speaking SPECIFICALLY about halftime.  Which is why I mentioned it.

No one is arguing about the Pittman foul...he's going to be suspended and it was a dirty play.  However, it was necessary.  Message sent.  If you think otherwise, I suggest you read Larry Bird's comments.  His team's fortitude made him sick.

"Tyler committed a hard foul on one end; [Haslem] came in and just delivered a shot back," Pacers forward West said. "All is fair, that's the way I look at."

non-issue.

Shaq was backing Haslem for his "play on the ball" where he hit some of Pysho T's arm.  Chuck and Kenny disagreed.

All three agreed that the Pittman foul was dirty...Shaq stayed kind of quiet on this still.

The softest thing to me was Danny Granger getting carted off....You can stick your chest out and bark and people and then get carted off for a sprained ankle.  Caron Butler just played the last two playoff series with a broken hand.

Can't even blame Pittman

Sooner or later someone on the Heat had to get one of their star players backs.

DEAD at the wink though

Yeah that's a bit excessive. I don't know man, I just can't get down with that. I lump that with Melo walking up on Manu, grabbing the back of his neck then tripping him because Manu was busting his %*@, that trash Bynum did in the playoffs last year. Those aren't tough plays. Head hunting and throwing elbows into a running players neck aren't tough plays. I just view toughness as an ongoing thing, not something you do for payback, or because you're mad. Be tough the whole damn game. The bad boys were tough, Boston, the Bulls, Antonio and Dale Davis, Barkley, Mason, Larry Johnson, Mourning, Kemp, Payton, Stockton, Malone. I just think there is a distinct difference between tough guy and dirty guy.

The best way to punish Pittman and the Heat for the foul would be to instead of fining/suspending him, let him start and play all of game six.

yo i honestly didn't see the heat getting past the pacers after the bosh injury. apparently neither did the rest of the country after the pacers went up 2-1. now that the heat are up 3-2 everyone has the heat winning in 6. I still think its going to game 7 but in the heats favor.

I would love a game 7, intensity would be great

Agree that Pacers talked too early and the choke sign was premature

Agree there is a difference between physical and dirty but the line can be blurred

And many of the guys you mentioned had reps as dirty players.  Tough, sure.  But also dirty.

I can't stand some of you. All we hear is you guys complain about the NBA being soft and there not being any goons to punish people. Things start getting physical and you guys are crying in here calling them classless

Then you guys wanna go back and talk about how much you loved Oakley and Maxwell.

The league isn't soft; the fans are.

I love when GMs or owners don't whine about how the game was called or the roughness. I love that Larry Legend called his team out instead of moaning about the physicality.

I can't believe my team went soft. S-O-F-T. I'm disappointed. I never thought it would happen....that is all I have to say. -Larry Bird

A LOT  of it has to do with it being the heat

I'm not even mad at Pittman. Hibbert talking about "Wade & Lebron haven't been responding to our physicality, they've been sending other people to do it."

Well, as star players...that's what you're supposed to do

Yea, they went after a 12th man...with a 12th man.

Exactly.  Just like Alonzo said in Training Day.........."You let the garbage men take care of the garbage (Lance Stephenson)".

It won't happen. Name the last time you saw a retaliatory act injure a NBA star

From what we've seen, pacers won't retaliate. If something is gonna happen it would have last night.

I still don't understand how people can't grasp that it isn't the hard fouls, it's the preferential treatment the heat get. Barkley called the refs cowards, not the heat players.

By the rules, Hands-Bro could have EASILY been ejected for his foul on Wade.  But he wasn't.  It goes both ways.

On top of it all, you're acting surprised that star players get benefits of calls.  Been this way in the NBA for 25 years.

Nah, most of it has to do with the league bias (atleast for me). I mean Hansborough went for the ball on his play but Wade decided not to even put up a shot after contact and T came down on his head "Flagrant 1". Thats a soft $+% flagrant foul on a basketball play but fine thats how the league is. Not even 30 second later Haslem comes with a non basketball play and goes str8 at Ts neck "flagrant 1". This I agree is a flagrant 1 in the sense of "old school ball" and I dont see a problem with it because he went at one of your stars. But in the sense that Tyler got the same exact penalty not even 30 seconds before when Haslem's was clearly worse and not even a basketball move that "happened to catch him in the face" he should have been thrown out. And then it is absolutely laughable that Pitman didnt get thrown out of the game we dont even have to speak on that.

Basically what I am trying to say is that I would love to see the NBA go back to the way it was. But at this point its not, yet some teams are allowed to play a little more "old school" and get away with it. I get that everything cant be right down the middle. But the NBA has to do a better job of being a little less biased.

The way things should have gone last night is Tyler's was a hard playoff foul. Haslem's was a flagrant 1, And Pittman should have been tossed.
