Gator snatches 2 y/o at Disney Resort #FLLiving

A simple mistake? Reports said the parents were a few feet AWAY from a TWO year old child in water..that's terrible parenting
NOBODY can watch a child 100% It's literally impossible to keep your eyes on a person for that long of a time.

The kid was just  few feet away

I'm not even sure they made a mistake.

I wouldn't be in the water myself.

But I know some people rock with lake water.

Terrible incident. That's it.

I'm confused on you guys being expert parents without kids

What does any of this have to do with anything.

Mind sharing with us the story of where this hate originates?

Smh you would think Disney would of took more precaution, knowing gators are roaming their resorts...

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news...-dragged-alligator-disney-20160614-story.html

Officials on Wednesday could not identify the last gator sighting on Disney property or say how many have been extracted in recent weeks.

That's because the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, which generally responds to nuisance gator reports, gives Disney full autonomy in handling the problem and isn't often involved.

"We have an open partnership with them where they can just call a trapper or have a staffer take out the alligator," said Nick Wiley, executive director of the commission. "They take the action directly."

H2HK...every. damn. thread. :{

just a little perspective on the history of white people and alligators in this country

sad that it had to come to this for "us all" to be "aware" of the "dangers" of alligators

how does that change anything that happened or even matter to anything that has happened?

That's precisely why the parents should not have had the child anywhere near the water because it only takes a moment of not having an eye on the child for something to happen which in this case it did.

As a parent, you really need to be on your toes & always be thinking a step or two ahead. These parents failed in a multitude of ways.

I don't see it.

I just see a gator doin gator ****.

Sucks for the parents.

None of their actions were malicious or reckless IMO so I have a hard time placing any blame on them since it's their child that was lost.

I agree, a gator was indeed doing gater ish, that's why the child shouldn't have been near an area where a gator could do its thing.

To each his own KK. We will agree to disagree then. Cheers.

Son your methods to aware others is despicable.
That ish you posted was so irrelevant and sad on so many levels.

I will admit tho I've never heard about those archaic practices and that brought a tear to my eye.

I do agree with what another person said on here. If you're gonna have a "no swimming" sign, you should probably have a picture of a gator by it. "no swimming" is pretty vague. Especially for a tourist not familiar with Florida. Could mean polluted water for all they know.

I'm sure Disney will make major changes after this.

if i see a sign that says no swimming, im not getting in that water.

if im not getting in, my hypothetical 2 year old aint either.

Resort probably figured no swimming means people won't get in the water, period. Common sense ain't that common though.

Well, they weren't swimming. A sign saying alligators would be way more effective. I see an alligator sign then I'd stay away a minimum of a 100 feet or more.

Has anyone asked why the land is low enough that a gator could just wander up to humans anyway?  If there are the threat of Gators.. Humans of any size would be subject to loss of limb and general confrontation.. Disney posted signs wont negate any threats of lawsuit..

Question hasn't been asked cause the kid was in a couple feet of water at night.

because irresponsible white parents get sympathy in the form of money for their irresponsibility

You sound stupid ... So if a parent is not paying attention to there kid near a road and he gets hit by a car it's no big deal right cause no one can watch there kid 100% of the time ....like cmon why would you have a Child in water that say no swimming and at 9pm anddd you not holding said child... just flat out dumb
