The gap isn't that large either way. Both are stars. Mac never led a team past the first round nor won an mvp.

Arguments for Harden are making it further than the first round. Compare his teams to the teams that T-Mac had in the playoffs. Harden is obviously more durable. Dude played with Russ and KD in OKC, came to Houston and had Patrick Beverly, Dwight Howard, Clint Capela, Trevor Ariza, Nene, Lou Williams, Chris Paul, and Russell Westbrook. There a couple other dudes I could name that I personally think could ball too, but it's definitely a lot more help than T-Mac ever had.

Anybody who was in grade school during the 2000s knows, T-Mac was in the conversation of best player in the league against Kobe. Listen to Shaq and Kobe both give that man his praise as one of the baddest to ever play. He gets having no championships held against him, but 2 of the GOAT both give him the stamp of approval. If the eye test wasn't enough for me, that definitely does it.

I'll give you the MVP for Harden, but if you put prime McGrady on the last coupe years Rockets Teams, he'd be able to do the same thing. Might even make the finals. He would've matched up against Golden State KD. Even with an injured Chris Paul, I think a prime Tracy would've been able to take that Game 6.
