APPLE VALLEY, MN — An 18-year-old Maple Grove man has been charged with felony third-degree assault in connection with an incident at the Apple Valley Aquatic Center Tuesday. Police say Roman Adams picked up an 8-year-old boy and pushed him over the railing as they were waiting in line on a waterslide platform. The boy broke bones in his feet, one leg and a shoulder.
Adams told police the line was taking too long so he pushed the boy and watched him fall, the criminal complaint states.
The boy fell more than 31 feet to the ground, according to investigators. He was conscious and breathing when officers arrived.
The boy suffered several fractures to both his feet, a broken femur in one leg, and shattered bones in a shoulder, according to police.
