It is moving - just at a normal pace. The speed of the truck makes you hit the ramp faster = more air.

Looks like the truck was moving too fast in that vid. I think the guy was paralysed then died a few years later. The trick has since been done by someone else but I can't find a video.

I think a combo of real emotion and trying to exploit the moment.
He probably was genuinely surprised, and Im sure that would be upsetting.
But once the moment was over, and he was gonna get no reprieve, he snapped out if it with the quickness
