FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

I prefer lunch over big dinners, my metabolism isn’t what it used to be. Also, entertainment is for entertainers. I’m not trying to blow a bag somewhere I’m not wanted.

Ribeyes, will be thrown on an open fire tonight.

OVERseason your steaks

If you think there is enough, add more.

Usually do garpic powder, salt and pepper but I am feeling adventurous.

Salt
Pepper
Garlic Powder
Jerk Seasoning
Cumin
Chili Powder
Ceyenne Pepper
Paprika

You making these extra well done?

Please report back with how the additional seasonings on there are. Don't think I've ever added anything more than garlic, salt, pepper.

Same. Sometimes I'll throw on some rosemary if I have it on hand. If I'm cooking it stovetop I'll use olive oil and/or butter.

I think the standard idea for steak is that people want the focus to be on the meat. I'm not against additional seasonings beyond salt and pepper. I've even been thinking on marinating a steak in some way.

Marinating steaks is usually a bit too much for me. Gives an entirely different flavor profile. Not necessarily bad. Just different.

I added all those things to My Bison Steak and I feel like I KILLED it. (In a good way)

My logic is cheap and/or thin meat gets marinated. Those Ribeyes costed my $12 a pop, no marinade for them

Bison is a lot more lean and the extra seasoning should help with flavoring.

Ribeyes got that fatty, rich, beefy flavor already. Just need some salt, pepper, and a bit of garlic for me.

I do add some paprika sometimes for a little extra kick. Feel like the extra cayenne and chili might be over doing it though.

Cumin can stay the hell away from my steaks.

Agreed, if you need more flavor finish it in a skillet with butter and herbs

DCAllAfrican DCAllAfrican solewoman solewoman and anybody else....

Any of y'all been to Bethesda Row and have recommendations for a spot I can grab lunch at? Or anywhere in that general area?

No sorry. Lol Harris teeter has lobster rolls for 6 bucks and pieology are the only places I’ve been. Too rich for my blood
