FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

local. it's st paul college. good school and pretty cheap. one of my instructors just came to teach there but he used to be at lcb.

how old are you?
be careful bud, one day it will hit you completely out of the blue.
outside of joke/competition type dishes (think Man v. Food challenges) I havent really encountered any dish that was TOO spicy for me to handle. The problem with me though is that I've had to adjust the spicy intake, not because its too much to handle going in, but its too much to handle going out. I used to have an iron stomach and could just chomp down on raw jalapenos no sweat, but these days, not so much. My wife gives me a hard time about it cause I will be in agony a few hours after eating a really spicy dish. She always sayin "why do you eat it so spicy if you know youre gonna be in pain later?"
its just too good not to.
26, I know all the old heads tell me my stomach isn't gonna be that iron clad forever.

The ONLY problem I've ever had with the food I cook, I made chili and diced fresh jalapenos into it, also, I sliced 2 habenero peppers, just sliced down the middle and threw those in there. I had to go to the toilet immediately after.

Other than that, I've never had problems with the digestive part.

For spicing up pre-cooked meals, or pastas, salads, I usually get Mrs. Dash "extra spicy" seasoning. It gives anything the right amount of kick.

On a more healthier tip yet still satisfying, a spinach salad I made the other day. Oven roasted peppers and salmon, avocado, feta cheese and sun dried tomatoes topped off with a basic olive oil n balsamic vinegar dressing

I used half the veggies (3oz instead of 6), and used 1 whole egg/ 1 white

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I need to think of new unique things to make though.

I used to make these a lot a couple of summers ago. Really good. I do want to try it with a couple of tweaks

From Turkey- 'Kefta' burgers, marinated in soy sauce, black pepper, and sliced peppers. Looks like shh, but quite possibly the best beef I've ever had in my life.

Teriyaki Salmon- The sauce wasn't sweet enough, because I didn't use enough mustard or something. The salad had diced cucumbers, tomates, and onions with a vinaigrette from scratch.
