As of today, I’m making an effort to stay off my phone when I go out to eat with friends and family (after I take pics). Had a family of 5 next to me and my son at lunch today and all 5 of them were on their phones the whole time. I didn’t like the look. Going to work on not being that family anymore. Not saying they were bad people; just that I think it’s good to be more engaged with your dining company.

We are doing this thing called whole life challenge at my company that is aimed at developing better habits across different areas and one of the areas is mindfulness. So last week it said to stay off electronics whenever you are eating (tv, phone, laptop, etc.) and I think it really helps to clear your head (if eating alone) and also to enjoy your company more. I have always eaten lunch at my desk while working, now that I don’t I think it has definitely helped to calm me down a little more.

Cava isn’t close to Halal in my opinion. Rather have Halal 10/10

We have a place that is local. Yassin's Opened a second location a year ago and they are packed all the time. Could see it getting franchised and going national.

Do you prefer icing on your pound cakes or nah? I prefer no icing. The "Sock It To Me Cake" looks good. Seems like a nice texture dynamic going on there.

Salt/pepper fish and honey walnut shrimp

Lemon pepper and garlic parmesan from Halal Wings Plus.
Not a fan of the parmesan as it's wet(not sure if it's oil or butter) so made it grainy. Never have garlic parmesan from anywhere else so don't know if it's normal.
LP didn't have strong lemon pepper flavor but enjoyed the wings as they're crispy.

I don't know too many people who have had real Halal cart food from NYC who actually enjoy the chain.

Personally, I'd take Cava any day of the week over the Halal Guys chain, but give me some Halal cart food from Forest Hills ANY day over Cava.

This place is good. Dude who started is a dynamo. The progress they made from first store to second is incredible. Nailed the food in the first store and second store brand building is in full effect. Will blow up.

hmmmmmmmmmmm i may try that technique with the butter. Id just melt and apply them with a brush or something on the veggies.


Brussel sprouts are so underrated man

My only gripe with that technique is that I feel like sprouts are a vegetable that need some sort of crisp to them. The asparagus works a lot better using that approach, in my opinion.
