FOOD THREAD VOL. GRUB LIFE

When I lived at my old apartment I would sometimes buy a sausage, egg, & cheese at the deli down the road from me and stop by the McDonalds on the way back home to buy a hash brown so I could put it on the sandwich. So good.

All this McDonalds talk has me craving burgers. Probably gonna do that for dinner tonight.

Mesa Salad from Verde. All the fountain drinks use cane sugar, I appreciate a good soda. Other than that they focus on fresh, healthy ingredients

McDonalds was clutch during lunch when I was a senior in high school.

Assembed the crew, got in my car, :nthat:, copped the 2 cheeseburger value meal with the student discount for $4.

Miss those days.

When I was in high school, Jack In The Box was doing a combo of a burger, taco and fries for $1.99. J-Box is trash, but I still put away a lot of those meals.

And I have to confess to having an affinity for Jack In The Box tacos. They’re so weird, they’re good.

McDoubles and McChickens are pretty clutch when you're drunk.

All of those "artisinal" sandwiches/burgers look like trash though.
I was reading last week that they are getting rid of all the “craft” burgers and focusing on the qpc. :lol

How are McDonald's Apple Pies.

Back in HS, they were 2 for a dollar. Would always stop after school for them.

Excellent pie crust
They changed em up a few years ago and they aren’t nearly as good as they were before.

Ahh yes the quarter pounder. Thats my fav off the lunch menu. When its fresh, its damn good. The best fast food burger IMO

Probably the smartest thing they could do these days. It's pretty evident that people are abandoning places like McDonalds for burger spots that have simpler menus with a higher focus on quality.

Plus who the **** wants a mushroom swiss burger or some ******** burger with guacamole from a spot like McDonalds?

Can I take a moment to say "**** this guy" while I'm here?

His food always looks okay, but nothing special. Just a gimmicky chef using gimmicky techniques that's created a celebrity following to hype up his mediocre food.

This video in particular did it for me though. I just assume any food coated in gold leaf isn't all that great and it's being used to mask that for a cash grab. There are a lot of expensive foods out there where the price tag is (arguably) justifiable based on quality of ingredients, technique, time, etc. Gold leaf is about as lazy as you can get to jack up the price on any food. Basically just pandering to the "easily distracted by shiny things" crowd.

Immediate dismissal of any food with gold leaf should be the expectation moving forward.
