Only the Red Octobers were selling for that much when they dropped. The fact that they lined up means it was for the plat or solars which were selling for I think $2-3k at first.
You consider its not 80hrs spent for 2 week but 14 days x 24 hrs and it really isn't a good deal.
$5000/336hr = $14.8/hr. $3000/336hr = $8.9/hr
I'm willing to bet quite a few people who have the brain power to sit in a line for two weeks straight were making below that at their minimum wage jobs at Mcdonalds and Aeropostale. I don't see many smart folks camping for that long for some plastic and suede. So it was "worth it" for some people.
Actually it's a bit lower. You have to factor in product cost, shipping, and PayPal fees (2.9%) plus 10% for ebay fees if sold on eBay. Flight club sales are a flat 20% I believe.
