Completely different businesses and logic. Wouldn't work for nike.
why wouldnt it work? We could finally get the shoes we want if we miss the mayhem release dates, resellers would die after the massive restocks, and we would see less sneaker crime because those who cant afford them could save up over time to get them in a few months after a REAL-stock not a WEAK-stock. Resellers couldnt buy 50 pairs then 50 pairs again because the 2nd time they couldnt turn a 2-3 fold as everyone can wait to get them later. Youd see more people wearing their kicks instead of posting with them in a room full of them. We could see cool ideas with kicks because its not a super duper limited release.. and jordan 11's wouldnt be soo controversal as well. Apple doesnt have any issues with stuff "selling out" besides the iphone as any one of us can get a Macbook Pro without any issues and if its not in stock we can get it built and shipped to the house and you know what.. Resellers die and we can live back the days when jordans were on shelves and you could go and try them on..lol

It honestly isn't worth the effort to explain it to you because it never will understand or accept the differences.

Nike profits off hype.

If a shoe is easily attainable most people won't care, others will wait for the shoe to go on sale.

People who cop because of nostalgia or collecting reasons are in the minority.

Ex:

If Air Jordan 1's were produced in the same numbers as AF1's and restocked as often they wouldn't instantly sell out.

I still to this day have no interst in jordan 1's. its basically an air dunk with jordan branding.. Same thing with those stupid fragment.. a lightling logo makes this branded air dunk worth a thousand dollars..smh

Shouldnt we buy what we like and it be reasonable available?

But hype is what is creating the crime and drama and if this is a consumer based economy we can eventually drive the prices down.. we could let shoes sit and wait to price lowers and cop for less than retail and let them hit outlets and rack up via phone orders. We dont need any more concord-like hype

Think about Apple for a sec. People still buy, sell, resell, and trade iphones constantly regardless of what the markup is, folks still lineup for blocks for FCFS on the newest apple products releasing, which by the way, are filled with just as much if not more drama then some of these shoe releases, as far as online is concerned, some wireless sites crash when ppl are trying to get the new iphone @ midnight, and as far as violence...I think that's pretty self explanatory. Mimicking Apple's biz model its going to combat these issues

I am with Gamer when it comes to the 1's, I never really cared for the shoe but I love the drama it creates lol.  And resellers will ALWAYS be around with anything that is for sale.

A reason I keep iPhones is that they resell for good money when I'm done with them :)

Apple hype and Nike hype are 2 completely different things. Nike = exclusivity, Apple = conformity. You guys are also missing the big picture here, Nike is a BILLION dollar company... they're not holding their marketshare because of DBs and NikeLab releases. There are tons of other Nike GR shoes that you can get with no problem, just because YOU want shoes that are hard to get doesn't mean you can't have a Nike shoe.

So you want to oversaturate sneakers that are re-releases and you think it would be as successful as a product that gets upgraded each year?

Drama for an iphone.. What release someone has been killed in the process of buying a new one (skip reselling) but buying one. Apples lines are like comic book and universal studio (new ride) lines. No drama no crazy need for cops. I think the ONLY time I heard apple drama was in Richmond,VA when they sold the surplus Apple laptops for $50 bucks.. People came from across the world and they had to then make it just for Henrico county residents.. Theres videos of that online somewhere. Now THAT was Concord-11 hype. Tons of sound bytes. Baby strollers getting ran over. Kids running all over the place. Swat people. It was mayhem..lol But still apple heads know that you can SIMPLY wait and you can get yours for retail later. Resellers cook in the beginning but after a couple months the jig is up and they have to go back to flipping Supreme Hoodies.

Apple is worth m ore than Nike so apparently their business model works better. Apple is further up there than Nike..

Yes!!! supply the dang demand and we can get back to talking about rocking NTDENIM instead of trying to find ways to buy the shoes.

You oversaturate the sneakers and they lose the very thing that sells them at this point. These kids don't buy sneakers because of what the players did in them, they buy sneaks because of the hype so that would be a stupid business move.

Violence doesn't solely equate to death...lol

nto for me.. i could finally catch up on foams or jordans.. I dont have to camp for them or be fast with the mouse... if i like a shoe ill get it.. i dont care if wale kanye jordan or anyone endorses it.. no need for hype.. i buy a shoe because i like something about it. I like the yeexys but i will never be able to afford them.. the closest to me getting a yeezys is a fake pair (when they finally make them look real).

They can't apply the same business model because they're not in the same business. Everyone NEEDS a phone and computer this day and age and in comparison, very few people WANT a crazy colored shoe from the 90s. If they start sitting then people will lose interest... plus no one here is qualified to say what's in the best interest of a billion dollar company :lol obviously what they're doing is working.

You bought the Chromeposites because of hype, all you did was bad mouth them before they dropped and continued up until you were able to get them on the restock.

you dont needa  smartphone. You can do well with a flip phone and a laptop. People like fashion so tjhey can make enough to supply the demand.. The only place that needs to follow nikes design is Saks 5th. I cant afford **** in there.. Outfit's for $600. Jeans for $250. Tee's for $150? I'm good. I dont know how that company makes profits!!!

1.) That skid row scenario was messed up. That was a fight ready to happen. They paid Skid Row people to wait in line for them and they then were told they couldnt wait in line. Thats an automatic situation there as those peopel are broke.

2.) cant get to the page.

3.) China's iphone sales go straight to ebay. They can get get the phones though online or wait for a restock.

4.) Same as 3.) The chinese mafia wants in on the resell market

Still much better than Nike's where you got people dying to stand in line. Dude cut dudes spot and he got murked

My favorite Apple heist is this one below.. That was perfect execution. Imagine what they could do to a foot locker

You're insane if you think Apple's business practices would work for Nike or any athletic brand. Two completely different markets and demand.

Apple makes a new (revised) product a couple times a year with a brand new item every few years. That's why people will overpay and wait wait wait.

Nike and Jordan make new versions every weekend and have hundreds of different choices at any given time. It might work if Nike only made ten different shoes.

Nothing more really needs to be said

You're missing the point, nike doesn't care about what you buy the sneakers for becaues they'd lose money listening to you. Why would they alter their business moves for you when they're doing just fine?

They have been "revising" foams since the Galaxy. So they could revise the shoe even more and finally go back to retroing 1997's. Nike could do it and we could still be foam and jordan fans.
