Wow. March 3rd, 2001 huh....
I remember this day like yesterday. Me and my brother woke up at 7 am to get scooped up by my friend and his mom. I was 15 years old when these came out sothis was my only access to getting them at the time. We hit ParmaTown mall at like 7:15 taking Ridge Road from Denison Ave. We were the first people in frontof the closed FinishLine. We thought we were guaranteed a pair. I had a basketball game that day for my middle school. I had to be in East Cleveland atnoon...so i had to be out of the mall by 10:30 am to at least get ready.
From 7:15 to 7:30, 25 people must've showed up in flocks of 4. Every dude looked at least 20 years old. I remember OG's, dope boys, female thugs andhoopers. I began to think my chances for getting these before these crazy %+$ people were DONE.
Long story short, by 9:00 am store opened....by 9:01; riots broke out. People swinging, shoving, cussing. A finishline employee yelled out loud "if youwant your pair - line up here" in front of the register so my group ran right in front of the registers. Everyone else continued lining up by the stockroom. Dude annouced we had first shots at the sizes. Two size 9.5's and a 9 were the first pairs sold. We dipped past everyone so fast we left our receipts
we didnt even care.
Broke 'em out the box for Gametime
and rocked em on the court freshout the box. I remember everyone staring and asking, "where'd you get them?"
. They were the freshest pair of shoes you can wear fresh out the box. Didn'teven crease that bad believe it or not...
So those 9.5's were worn to death. Wore them with everything. Now? I was fortunate enough to buy these again in a size 11's for now.
I will UN' DS these soon..
My favorite release DAY of all time.
