I seen Juan Dixon at Arrundel Mills around the NFL playoff time... I specifically remember because we briefly talked Playoffs & the Ravens. Seem like a cool dude and tough to say without knowing him but he didn't look like he was "struggling". I think the other reason people say he "fallen off" is because they see his former teammate, Blake doing his thing in LA.

Random sidenote: I didn't know Kwame Brown was still in the league.

Even greater irony is that he is back to playing for the man that drafted him ....and enviscerated him

The casual sports fan just has a false interpretation of success when it comes to an individual athlete's success. So many people who make overseas jokes like them dudes ain't making serious tax free money and coming back home to spend it.

/\ Forte is an example of a fallen star. Out of the league due to being a %%!%##+ idiot. Don't know what he's up to now but I heard he managed to make it overseas in some league.

He actually did that twice. The first time was with the Celtics when he wore a Magic Johnson throwback in the locker room, the second time was when he was with the Sonics and wore a Jordan Wizards jersey before a Wizards game and told his teammates he loves the wizards. I remember seeing him in Eddie's Carryout on Georgia Ave. a couple years ago looking like he wanted someone to recognize him. Waste of talent.............

Actually, it killed his career for good.

Can't wear a Lakers jersey on the sideline... AS A DAMN CELTIC... Still got guaranteed millions as a 1st round pick. Dude was TOO smooth at UNC and at Rucker...

But I got no beef with Forte personally. We were "next door neighbors" for about a week in Hotel Helix a few years back, cool dude who was remorseful and looking toward the future.

Dude even talked to one of cousins directly (top recruit in PG at the time, no name dropping) about using HIM as an example of what NOT to be "image" wise.

After that, I realized how sincere dudes are... And how THESE kind of stories I just shared don't make it main stream...

SMH...

Joe Forte was my coach over the summer at Morgan Wooten's Basketball camp between 4th & 5th grade... Still look up to dude based on them years at DeMatha and his one year at UNC (Sidenote: A #40 UNC Jersey is one of the few jerseys I'd rock of a team I don't support).

What's sad is he def had a lot more star potential than his DeMatha teammate and my coach the next year (Keith Bogans) and everyone knew it.

Amazing what staying in school as long as you need to and not making boneheaded decisions can do for someone. Keith is starting for the Bulls... We don't even know where Joe is...

Word man.

Bogans was solid at KU. People knew that when we went to the L, he'd last for atleast 10 years. Even if undrafted.

He played his role in college, and in the L for every team he's played for.

"Scouts" and NBA Analyst critique these guys BEYOND measure coming out of school, and "potential" from young dudes is always over a solid 4 year player.

Look at Sam Young last night. And look at all the younger SFs with "potential" in that year's draft that was drafted ahead of him.

Psht.
